Did you have any issues with the 102 TB like most have?

It took 2 different TBs. The second one worked perfect.

you dont pick up "boost"...

if your boost # is now higher with those mods, than you have more restriction of forced air not entering your motor.

Bigger TB is less restriction on the vacuum side. The meth seals the rotors and they make more boost.

Its been 4 weeks - any update on your build and rwhp?
If not whats the hold up the LSX crate engine is a drop in right?

Still looking for more actual performing GM crate engines.

Thanks and good luck - Allan

Car made 825RWHP and 702RWTQ.

Gonna have the idle dropped to 900RPMS soon. The old bypass valve from Whipple was to strong at 10" vacuum while the car idles at 11".

This is exactly correct. A larger throttle body, giving that the stock one was indeed to small, will create less boost on a centri, and more boost on a PD blower. Less restriction after blower = more power and less boost. Less restriction before blower = more boost which is more power.

Meth before blower will give you a little less IAT cooling but it will cool the blower making it more efficient. Some say it "fills the voids" between the rotors and case, not sure if that is true or not, but either way, centri or PD, every setup I've had or seen has picked up 1-2 psi from spraying pre blower

Subscribing.Nice build inferno LSX Well just joined the Stock Bottom carnage bunch Friday night. Dropped a Piston and or threw a Rod. It's toast going to take time and input , do it right come back better and stronger. LSx looks like a great option. What kind of Valvetrain Supporting parts does the B15 come with? Really would want to do a different Cam and if you have to switch out the Cam Springs etc., it would seem a custom build would be cheaper and better in long run. RIP LS3 01/03/14

Sorry to hear that bud!:( what happened? Is there a thread on it?

SSBUSDRVR 01-06-2014 01:07 PM

Thanks. No not yet. Don't want to steal the thread but just driving got on gas there was a quick little vibration around 4.5k rpm immediately followed by destruction. No issues for almost two years. Sh*t happens and knew it could.

I reused the oil pan off the original LS3. When we pulled it we found parts of a piston skirt that cracked and one rod was bent. I knew that motor was on kill mode when we upped the boost and power when I added the 102mm, meth and tune.

How many lbs of boost were you guys making on your stock bottom ends, before they went? Also how much HP were you making?

SSBUSDRVR 01-07-2014 09:48 AM

Was avg 8.5 with probably a peak just north of 10 on 3.25 pulley E-Force.
Custom Grind COMP Cam supporting parts No meth. Good oil pressure and no previous issues up until it went. Mid 600's.

Inferno LSX 01-07-2014 02:03 PM

Stock LS3 with a Whipple. 11 PSI making 680RWHP. With full exhaust, meth, 102mm custom tune.

What Rpms was you guys' redline set at? 680 RWHP is a lot but I thought the stock bottom end and a good safe tune would handle it.
