Tahoe Trip Suggestion Sept 18-20

Hi Everyone,

My local car club is going to have a Tahoe Trip Sept 18-20 You can read up on the link here:
http://www.wcgmp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6749

Taken from the WCGMP (West Coast GM Performance) board:
Also, that weekend is Cool September Nights Car show in Tahoe, more information below!

Tentative Itinerary:

Friday 9/18
-Meet at 10AM locally for those close enough to the San Jose area
-Stop somewhere along the route for lunch (TBD)
-About 3pm arrive in Tahoe
-Dinner & Party

Saturday 9/19
-Breakfast
-Go to Cool September Days Event
-Casino & Dinner

Sunday 9/20
-Breakfast
-Head back home
-Stop for lunch somewhere along the route
-Arrive back home
Given the number of confirmed attendees, at this moment we're leaning towards a few 2-bedroom suites at the Ridge Point Resorts. The cost is $160/night for each suite, so basically $80/room, plus taxes.

Single rooms are $70/night, without the nice amenities of course.

For those that want to come, and want to book later, you can call (775) 588-3553 and ask for rooms at the Ridge Point Resort. Or, you can book online at http://www.ridgetahoeresort.com/accommodations.html . Make sure you book at the Rige Point, it's cheaper than the Ridge Tahoe.

The Amenities:
* Fully equipped kitchen with microwave oven, dishwasher, refrigerator,fullsized oven, small appliances, dishes and utensils, cooking necessities.
* Spacious Living Room with queen size sofa sleeper
* Dining area
* Gas Fireplace
* King Bed in each Bedroom
* Three TV’s, two VCR/DVD and Stereo Systems
* Daily Maid Service
* Two Bedroom Condominium Suite sleeps 2-6 people; One Bedroom
Condominium Suite sleeps 1-4 people

This is across the street from Harrah's and very close to other casinos.

Also during this weekend in Lake Tahoe is the 24th ANNUAL COOL SEPTEMBER DAYS!

Hahaha!! As tempting as it is, I have to pass. I'm on call that weekend anyways and the weekend before that. But maybe i can ask for a few favors. ;)

The fiancee is getting overwhelmed by wedding stuff and wants to stay home and try to finish sorting everything out so we're going to pass on this one. Next year is possible though.

joerod97 08-20-2009 12:04 AM

Hey guys, sorry I cant make it, I have a wedding that day. But.....Folsom is 1 1/2 hour from Tahoe so it would be perfect stop for lunch since there are about 9 eateries right off the Bidwell exit---In and Out/ Mc donalds/ BJs Brewery/ / Ruby Tuesday/ Olive Garden/ Taco Bell/Mimis/Macaroni Grill /IHOP. I can stop by and hang for a while.

shiftz33 08-20-2009 08:35 AM

I second joerod97's comment about Folsom being a good place to stop on the way. I live about 10 minutes from Folsom myself. It's unclear whether I can attend yet, because my job went to 1/2 time and 1/2 pay this month. It would be great to at least meet up with everyone on the way (at a minimum).

gabraddock 08-20-2009 12:50 PM

Sorry to report we won't be making this Tahoe run. Danielle has a baby shower to attend that weekend. I am open for October though.
