Battery Location
 

any speculation on where you think they might stick the battery?, hopefully its in the trunk, put a little more weight on the rear wheels, and would make the installation of my car audio setup a whole lot easier

I think all GM vehicles of late have the batteries in the Trunk. Except the pickups, and maybe the SUV's of course. :p

My Cobalt has a cavity just below the actual trunk space, where the spare tire is stored, and the battery.:thumbsup:

Yup, I'd wager that it will be in the trunk.

im gonna guess under the hood. or maybe they will do like the dts caddy and put it under the rear seat. but why wouldnt it go under the hood??

Most new GM vehicles put the battery in the trunk. It improves weight distribution and keeps the engine bay clean and compact.

I agree the battery should go in the trunk. Any company serious about performance pay attention to small details that do affect handling. BMW has been putting the battery in the trunk since the 1970s, and before that they put the battery as far away from the front of the car as they could (usually mounted flush with the fire wall).

A battery in the typical location (in front of the radiator) needlessly puts undo weight on the front overhang of the car. I would also hope GM moves the bulk of the engine mass behind the front axle. Keep the center of gravity of the car as close to the middle as you can.

Wow. I did not know that. That is a really damn good idea! I hope they do put it in the trunk. Does make it alot easier too for installing aftermarket electronics and performance wise!
