Doubts and driving experiences are two different things. Blur's correct - such comparisons (although a stretch, I agree) have been made, which is astounding.

Georgie 10-31-2008 01:07 PM

its a fwd bread and butter car, its not a rwd performance oriented sedan like the G8, so you really can't make the comparison

Malibu build quality is actually better than the BMW build quality. Granted, the BMW has the performance edge. But in terms of build quality, the new Malibu has that wrapped up. :chevy:

The A/B picture comparison is not really accurate. The Camaro is bigger and has bigger displacement but no overhead cam. The Mustang is smaller and has smaller displacement and a SOHC or DOHC depending on the model. This is a more accurate comparison:

BMW has bread and butter cars too. Why does everyone assume the comparison is to an M3 whenever someone brings up "compares favorably to a BMW. Being an owner of a lower end 3 series, I can safely say: it's a wonderful feel, stiff without being harsh, but cruise control would be nice, and I wish I didn't have to be so gentle with the transmission.

i am impressed and i'm glad domestics have improved their game, malibu is no exception, but to say that GM is leaps and bounds ahead in quality compared to Ford is just not accurate and to think that Ford won't be bringing their A game moving forward is wishful thinking :)

Which is better below. A or B?

I would say that both B's have a lot in common :confused0068:

LMFAO! Good point. In both cases, A is the right answer.:sm0:

Here's where you're wrong. The first two pictures are close. Meaning, the performance of each would be nearly the same. In the case of the second two pictures, just looking at them it is clear which one is better.

Georgie 10-31-2008 01:47 PM

maybe for you, but i "wood" get much better performance from B than A :P

I will admit, the Mustang GT with a supercharger that has 15 lb's of boost would be faster than a Camaro SS stock. But after intake and exhaust on my Maro', your screwed again. Not to mention needing a new engine cause 15 lb's on a FORD = BOOOOM:thumbup:

All I have to say is if I can beat NEW GT's in my 07 TC....I probably won't even waste the gas once I have my Camaro, since I consider it's direct competitor the GT500, even though they aren't in the same range, putting a stock GT against a stock SS isn't a fair battle.:chevy:

what do you mean. you can get a warrantied supercharger from Ford that's good for 500 crank HP. the SOHC 3V internals are good with stock clutch up to 550 crank. the one thing you'll need to change are the brakes. the dang engine has been one of the top 10 engines for four years now; its a good piece of machinery.

Chevyzone 10-31-2008 03:17 PM

And this MT rant is gonna matter......how?

I was being somewhat sarcastic. All i'm saying is I watched my friends Kenne Belle Cobra blow up inside of the hood. blew the latches off. Also, for some reason most cars I see on fire are Fords, particularly Mustangs. And as for the motor being a good piece of machinery, that may be true that it's "good" but they haven't changed the damn thing other than a tweak here or there in effin' 50 years! and now they are bringin the 5.0 back...it's like they are stuck on those two motors...Part for part, Camaro beats the current Mustang that's out now. Also, the 4.6 really sounds puny IMO, kinda like if a 4 banger and a 350 had sex, the 4.6 would pop out.

Georgie 10-31-2008 03:28 PM

the 5.0 is the next gen modular motor. it will be a DOHC 4V. the old 5.0 was the old pushrod 302

oh man, i don't know why you would say it sounds puny... you start the thing up rumble rumble rumble... sounds good, might be one of the best stock exhaust notes.

I even read about transformers blowing up at the power grid station in MUSTANG, OKLA
