sounds good, nice picture

2010 SSRS 02-05-2010 02:22 PM

Nice.

Expect pricing of the Z28 to exceed current SS models by at least $8,000, but not to grow anywhere near Corvette money. GM would like to keep the Camaro Z28 as its original pony car for the average-income car lover. If the General keeps his word and GM builds this thing, we believe it will become a workhorse and a collectors item for Camaro lovers everywhere
Funny, it says GM wants to keep the Z as its original pony car for the average-income car lover yet, they say the Z will cost at least $8000 more than the SS.

Funny, a $45,000 car doesn't seem like an average-income price.

No it was never confirmed. The article doesn't even have any sources. It's a random person blogging. The picture shown is a photoshop done by Jinx....

Oh, okay...that makes more sense.

Camaro_Corvette 02-05-2010 02:50 PM

Wow, I don't even see where they gave jinx any points for making the photoshop.

no they didn't.

Black5thgen 02-05-2010 05:15 PM

Perhaps they will unveil the Z28 at the C5F?!?!?!?!?

masterofpuppets 02-05-2010 05:16 PM

No sources and the badge on the fender is a Z06 badge. Fail.

Big Brunsy 02-06-2010 04:40 AM

yeah I didn't think they announced anything yet...thought it was wierd how it was dated way back to september and still never heard anything from GM yet.

ShnOmac 02-06-2010 05:05 AM

:bs:... and not cool for stealing someone elses design and not giving them credit.

Copyright laws. They used his rendering without his permission!

They never claimed it as their own. Nor did they profit off of it.
There is no innate copyright on that picture unless he established one expressly. The Internet is largely fair-game.

I should know.........

lol

even if they gain marginal profit from website hits?

moto-camaro 02-06-2010 09:20 PM

wow, they hotlinked an image from a lexus forum, and gave jinx no credit for his work. not cool.
(edit: agreed dragoneye; they've done no wrong, simply a courtesy that's always nice to see extended)

jinx actually created a Z/28 badge based on the Z06 badge's design, i found a bigger pic of his design where you can see it better. pretty cool stuff :w00t:

Jinx has seemed to pretty much get all the little details correct; at least that I've noticed in the past. I heart that rendering :wub::bow:

I think it's hilarious that someone could even hint at that pricing representing the car they described. Regardless - just more fuel

:iono: Didn't know you had to profit from it. Just assumed Copyright laws would cover using someone's intellectual property without his/her permission.

radz28 02-08-2010 03:25 PM

Christ - I just read the Autoblog article on the '11 GT500... 10 more HP and like 120 lbs. less... Come on GM! :(

Jinx 02-08-2010 03:33 PM

Thanks for the continued backing. I generally don't mind because I done the photoshops just to illustrate my idea. All my photoshop usually start as someone elses originally photo. I try to use GM based photos, but sometimes I use regular people. I slip in original photo credit, so Im not to hurt. lol. But I try too. My last Z28 rendering was from someone on here and I added a watermark for him when he asked.

radz28 02-08-2010 03:47 PM

Nuttin' wrong with that one though! That's probably my favorite I think.

Mm-hmm. Profit/personal gain is key to the Copyrite laws. And you have to establish a copyright with the gov't. Get it on record...otherwise everything goes out the window.

Psh....Doesn't matter if they don't fix that tree-trunk under its butt, and the shoes it wears. ;)

:word: I'll still take IRS over that log, regardless of it's lack of straightline prowess. I won't lie and say I don't just salivate all over that supercharged powertrain, but I must be getting old, but it's just not only about 1320' performance anymore :D:headbang::bow:

Speaking of 'chops, anything new on your screen? :D:respekt::clap:

Even in my late teens/early 20s I was interested in more than 1320 performance. That was one of the main reasons I opted for a new Z/28 in '69 instead of an SS, I wanted great handling with my performance on all types of roads. And as I've gotten older that has never changed, I could care less about having 550-700HP with awesome straight line performance, I'm more interested in a good high performance engine with a suspension that will straighten out those curves on any road!

That's not true at all. Anything you create is copyrighted to the maker, regardless if it says (C) or copyright on there. And the GOVT doesn't always have to establish the (C) in order for it to be "official." it definately helps solidify a copyright, but even if you don't go that route, it doesn't mean everything goes out the window. There are other things you can do that would help establish the copyright.

Either way, jinx can't really copyright his photoshopped images anyways since he's using borrowed material, unless he has direct consent or ownership of the images. and from the looks of it, he knows that too.

This just in...

Not sure if this is old news...or if its even reliable. But I have a friend that just came back from Florida. He said he went to the GM test track at EPCOT center and said that he talked to the GM Rep about the Camaros that were on display. The Rep told him that a Z28 would be coming out soon and it was going to be available with a T-Top.

Not sure what to think....but this is what he told me.

Let the speculation begin.
