Touch less car washes?
I got a coupon for a free car wash, but I know they scratch the hell out of the car. So what about the touch less ones? Do they work? Not recommended?

they won't scratch, but they leave a film of dirt on the car. Not a real "wash" as the car isn't totally clean afterwards.

I use touchless in the winter because it is better than nothing but once the nice weather roles around, I wash the car myself. I would recommend only using touchless when you need a quick wash to get some road grime off the car. If you want it to look really good they will not do this but it is better than nothing IMO.

Aside from the issues that it won't get your car anywhere near 100% clean so you'll be left with grit on the surface, theres also the chemicals they use. In order to clean the car without any mechanical (scrubbing) cleaning the chemicals have to be fairly harsh, so any wax or sealant protection you've applied with likely be stripped or degraded. Theres also the fact that most will use reclaimed/recycled water.

- Touchless Washes up here use recycled water.
- It's not always the best, but like Keving2873 said...it's better than nothing. - 3 degrees Celsius here today, and I almost went to one, but put some warm water in my buckets and went at 'er. - Glad I did! |
