Catch can not catching oil

Today is the 3rd oil change I've done with a RX catch can installed on my engine. The first two times I had a good amount of oil drain out of the can. This time when I open the valve nothing drained out. Normal? :iono:Or is it the cold weather that keeps it from working? Has anyone else had a empty can?

Is the valve closed, remember, threaded out is all the way closed and threaded all the way in is open. You can put you finger over the drain hose while she is running, is there suction? If so the drain is open. It happened to me, the dealer left it open after an oil change. ( my first 3 were free, now I change I myself.) Mine rattled like a SOB when it was open too.

Checked hose and I felt no suction. I turned the valve in the other direction and did feel suction , so thats not the problem. Any other suggestions anyone?

There is a thread here somewhere where a guy started having problems with his during the cold weather. It was causing the condensation in the can to freeze up the check valve IIRC...

Talked to him....he is in relatively warm (well above freezing) weather. Had him test all and all is working so he is going to try and drain agin tomorrow with some new instructions and report back.
