IOM SS Camaro at Sport Chevrolet (PICS INSIDE)!
 

Went in there today as soon as I got the notice that it had arrived. Thankfully I got to sit in it before they put it on the lift. I really like that color with the matching interior. I ordered SIM but will keep my eye on the IOM. The IO interior looked amazing! I was advised that this car didn't have ABL possibly because it was one of the first to be built, not sure if its true but I didn't see any light bars or lines inside of the door panel. There is plenty of room for us tall guys. I am 6'2" and fit in there with no problem. If you guys are in the area go check it out. They are adding the 21 chrome/black rims and some black stripes. I will be going back to visit next week to see what those look like. Enjoy the pics. The interior isn't that dark as the pics show it to be.

Nice pics thanks for puttin them up! I've been thinkin about skipping out of work all afternoon to visit but didn't pull the trigger. I'll definitely head up tomorrow afternoon!

You must have gotten there right after I did...my pics are posted in the color thread under "IOM at dealer today". My pics are before they put the car on the rack. Was told that 5 orders were put in in April. Folks they are coming!

5 more are going in for May and then I will get mines in for June. I'm sitting at #7 right now.

I just came from there the new rims and stripes were on it. it was my first time sitting in one. it was amazing

Where the black rally stripes flat or glossy? There is a thread about this topic...everyone is anxious to know if they are flat or not...well?

Just posted this in the pics thread. If Sport chevy people haven't had the chance to get there just yet hopefully you can get there tomorrow. They're planning on covering it up in the next couple of days until the GM reveal on May 6th. Right now they let you sit inside and try her on for size. :cool:

they definitly were not glossy. i noticed that as soon as i saw them, i think it was flat.

consensus seems to be growing that they're flat mettalic of some sort. Not your traditional flat black, they have a sheen to them.

they had just just finished putting the stripes on so maybe they were still going to add something to make it shine

So did you like the stripes or not? I saw the car on Wednesday without the stripes so I'm curious about them.

I loved them I'm like a million times more excited to get yellow with black stripes. I was worried about the stripes being dealer installed but they came out perfectly.It curved around the raised part (not sure what it was called) of the hood without any sort of defects.I did not go around to the back because there were about 5 dudes standing there but I saw that the stripes went on to the spoiler a couple of inches which I liked.

The people at Sport Chevrolet were very nice. They even let me sit in it even though my order is with another dealer.
Myself , the sales guy, and another customer all tested versions seating arrangements in the back seat. The other customer was 6’1” and was a biit cramped in the back with the 200 lbs plus sales guy in the driver’s seat. Myself who is 190 lbs and 5’10” managed to fit ok in the back with the sales guy adjusted so he could drive. My head hit the liner, but with a bit of movement it was ok. I think it will work well enough :thumbup:

Who has this car, I just ran into it in Germantown,MD. Still had the onstar paper and price paper on the door and windshield.

I believe I understood that this particular one was supposed to remain on the showroom floor under cover until the GM reveal on Wed.

Well I guess some one went on a joy ride last night. Ill post pics tonight when I get home from work

Ha. Perhaps so. I went up there to visit it when it first arrived and admitteddly haven't been back since then. It's entirely possible they changed their plans for it. Others from Sport had heard (as had I when I visited) that they were originally keeping it for their corvette show at the end of may and then would determine what they would do w/ it. Having just checked out their website a couple of days ago it's already listed for inquiries, price quotes etc soooooooo......:iono:

The Sales Manager, Robert Kramer, was driving it last week. I also saw this car on U-tube from another thread so somebody is out there driving it...maybe him or someone from the dealership. The car will be there for their May 6th event and the Corvette show at the end of the month. Did you all see the videos on U-tube?

got the call from sport today around 3:00 and was told my car was in.

going tomorrow after work around 5:00 to pick her up. the weather better get better:thumbup:

Congrats! My fiancee and I are planning on visiting for the reveal hoopla wednesday evening and hoping to have VIN information on ours. Hopefully the skies will magically part for you tomorrow. Enjoy and naturally we expect to see tons of pictures. :thumbup:

Hmmm...I wonder if the black one is an extra dealer car for the reveal? I noticed an update for three known VINs for Sport that doesn't include Paw's red ss. I believe the new third listing that I hadn't noticed before was a black 1lt. Too bad it's not my 2lt that they planned on surprising me with tomorrow. Ha. A fella can dream.....:laugh:

Let's hope we get ours faster then we thought. You think the car is spoken for or was this a dealer car they are getting? I hope this is a customer car.

I'll have to check that thread and see if it's updated any more. I believe I saw one that was a red 2ss so that must've been Paw's. It'd be great if there was a surprise or two in store for us this evening!

What time are you going? Just spoke w/ Robert Kramer and apparently everything's still a go for this evening. Festivities kick off around 5 including registrations?? Ummm....perhaps a raffle drawing for a free camaro?? Around 6 o'clock the car will be unveiled.

I'm hoping I can get my fiancee moving so we're there by 6 at the latest. :chevy:

What a fun evening! Did ya see the fella helping Robert take the cover off of the IOM? That was me. Ha. I was hangin out w/ my fiancee when he called me over. I was thinkin he was going to give my workbench order update, instead he asked me to help him take off the cover. Suuuuure. :headbang:

Our number was one of the ones called for the raffle as well. Funny as I had held off from getting that book but was just about to order it off of Amazon for Kim's birthday next month. When she went up to claim it I wished her an early happy birthday. :sm0:

Finally the big news that proved to put an exclamation point on the evening (other than the Pens winning in OT!) was the news that our baby rolled off the line yesterday! He's hoping for our invoice by weeks end w/ shipping details! :happyanim: What a fun fun evening!

LOL...I know..I wondered to myself who is wooav8tor...did any of the Camaro5 folks show up, how many of them are here? I thought for sure I would overhear folks talking about a thread or something. There were so many people there I was just soaking in the camaro high. Good for you! Your baby is coming! Did you get a chance to speak to the guy Cadillac Bob? He told me they have a lot of classic cars on Sunday mornings at the intersection of 198 and 29. Told me to come on by and check it out when I got my car. (whenever that is) Seems like it might be fun.
