Z28 in 2014?

I know it has been talked about here many times but now it's in the news so maybe it is true? Twin turbo v6 sounds nice too!

Doubt it. As much as I want a Z/28, I don't see it coming this gen.

well something new is happening, why else have a Camaro at the NY Auto Show?

Because they are revealing the mid cycle changes. I'm sure we will see some exterior and interior upgrades.

Doubt it. A 5th Gen Z/28 is the Bigfoot car.

Well, If it did happen, most likely it would cost more then the ZL1 with less power. I believe the cost to manufacture the LS7 is more then the cost of the ZL1's Supercharged LSx. The LS7 is a single person hand built engine. Unless GM cut the cost out of a lot of other areas (suspension, interior, wheels and tires ect.) the cost would be high. By the time you get the cost down below that of a ZL1, you would end up with a stripped down 1SS with an LS7 in it. It would probably do decent on a dragstrip, not better on a road track then an SS. Thats not what the Z28 was suppose to be about.

Take a 1LE strip it down, add some carbon fiber panels to drop the weight and retune the ECU, intake and exhaust for more HP. Or take the 1LE and added what I said to lighten it and give it the C7 Corvette drivetrain. Either way, slight bump in HP and less weight with the track suspension, and sell it between the 2SS and ZL1 price wise. Thats what a Z28 should be. This would mean dropping the 1LE from the line though.

guess we will all find out at the end of March. Why would you expect the Z28 to be above the SS? It was the middle man in the 4th gens and 3rd. 4th gen SS was an upgraded Z28 and the 3rd gen IROC was an upgraded Z28 (there was no 3rd gen SS).

I think the LS7 is coming :) Just a hunch

Btw if that was a typo,

That'd be a pretty expensive typo. Just saying.

That's because the ZL1 was supposed to be called the Z28. The name was changed last minute and suppliers didn't want the cost of renaming parts.
