Cruise to Drumheller

Anyone up for a final cruise to Drumheller October 12? This is Thanksgiving weekend, but a few of us were chatting if we do it on Saturday, leaves the rest of the long weekend for family stuff.

I don't think this cruise would be as long of a day as the Waterton Cruise, and of course would be weather dependent. Getting close for some you to put your cars away for the winter....

So let's do a final run. Who's in??

Krazycamaro (maybe)
Eastwood
NFRNOSS
iCandi
MJRRacing97
Garoad Shenlong
Smarbrit
FitterMike
JGS
Meltdownaverted
Xtreme industries
Piper

Update: I need to gather a bit more information - I'm not familiar with Cross Iron Mall and the other stores in around the shopping centre and unfortunately google maps is not up to date so haven't firmed up a good meeting location. BUT....

I propose we meet 8-8:30 am, roll out by 9 am. We can head east on the 566 - no lights to the #9 highway. No one has objected yet - I'd like a quick stop in Beiseker to pick up my dad. If others want to roll on and not stop - I will continue on the 9 and pick him up closer to his house and catch up (if he decides to come at all).

For touring - I have Horse thief Canyon, Horseshoe Canyon and the Atlas Coal Mine. I am working out the route to see if it all makes sense.

Also looking into some spots for lunch, if anyone has suggestions, please throw them out here!!!

Also, for those who may be bringing buddies, please give a count so if we need to reserve for lunch, I can give accurate numbers.

Getting closer, fingers crossed the weather holds!!!!

UPDATE:
Let's meet at the Lowes parking lot. 1 set of lights to the 566.

As Jim and Myrna are meeting us in Biesiker, we can stop at Matt's corner right off the #9. It's not a paved lot but it's easy in and out. If that doesn't work for the group I'll check into other spots.

Sadly...I'm on my run of working weekends, Sheena. I don't get a weekend off until the 26th and that is starting to get a bit late, I think. But you guys all have fun and take lots of pictures! That way I can look at them and "pretend" I was there. LOL

I might be able to make it! I won't really know until closer to the date, but it would be a blast like usual!

I would be in.

NFRNOSS 09-15-2013 05:47 PM

I'll know closer to the date. We usually go out of town for thanksgiving.

"cough, cough" Tom....sick day.."sneeze" lol. Or your wife can come out and play for the day

It's a pretty flat drive out but I think the badlands would offer up some cool photos!

Thought about pushing out a bit in October, but we always seem to get at least 1 snow dump....

Will post up more details as we get closer!

Sheena...you're on the same wave as me! LOL

I feel something coming on. I even get a flex day that I'm sure I can talk ONE of the supervisors into giving to me. LOL

iCandi 09-16-2013 01:53 PM

I'm hoping to make it. Kelly is on call again, but I am going to see if he is willing to come anyways. If a call comes in, I can always bring him back into the city, as Drumheller isn't all that far away!

dragon22 09-16-2013 03:27 PM

That is a great idea. And if I'm sick, I'll get to meet him! :)

islander033 09-16-2013 07:42 PM

I'm in if it's an open cruise and my car is fixed. :)

Everyone is welcome to come out, the more the merrier! But just a heads up, we let a Mustang lead us astray in Waterton....we are onto you guys....lol Hope there's nothing seriously wrong with your car!
