Magnaflow Tru X questions
I'm wondering how the Magnaflow Tru X would change the exhaust note of the LS3 if put in place of the stock H-pipe? Would it be louder/quieter? Deeper/higher pitch? Smoother/raspier?
I put on a Flowmaster Pro Series axle back. Here is a video of it: http://youtu.be/xMt8SVxWDT0 Has a really nice deep and controlled tone to it now. No drone. I'm actually quite happy with it. I just wish it had a little more volume when revving up the through the RPM range....but I don't want to lose control of the deep tones and controlled exhaust note (I hate redneck truck cackling exhaust). Anyone know if adding the Tru X would help my goals? |
It will not add volume or change the tone. It will create a "smoother" sound for lack of a better word. It will reduce the burble.

Think of it this way, your cylinder banks will sound more in "unison" when revving up with the X-pipe. The both 4 cylinder banks will sound tighter together. Some people call this more of an exotic euro sound. H-pipe offers a more traditional muscle car sound. I always ran X-pipes on my VAG V8 engines. It sounded as it should have with it on, even if stock was H. However on this particular ride here, I'll be sticking to the H ;), IMHO it suits it. Good luck on your choice, have fun! |
