I received a response this evening and the gist of it is that Canadian pricing is still to be determined, but the goal is to have numbers ready for official release in early November. He confirmed that Canadian dealers will have the ability to accept orders beginning this Thursday (Oct.16th) You can be assured that I passed on my concerns to him about how the Canadian enthusiast community views the importance of pricing - especially as it relates to U.S. pricing. Chris has promised to keep me in the loop as developments take place and I will be sure to pass any new info along to everybody here. Best regardSS, Elie |
:w00t:Thanks fors keeping us posted
Garfin, are you still ordering your car on the 16th, or waiting until pricing is out, and if your ordering, are you using some sort of discount? Sorry for the raid of questions :help: |
Thanks for sending the email man..helps us all. I tried emailing my local dealer, didnt even give me a response and all i asked for was allocation and if they were taking orders thursday. Oh well.
Thanks for takin the initiative and thanks for keeping us posted :D |

Definitely keeping my fingers crossed here... and if anybody should feel so disposed, I would gracefully accept some sort of discount should the time come!!;) Best regardSS, Elie |
I'm kind of worried about the pricing difference since I looked at the pricing of some options between US and Canadian vehicles.
Examples: 2009 Chev Impala SS Sunroof ............. US $ 900 ... Canada $ 1,340 ... + 32.8% :mad0259: Body Side Mold.... US $ 100 ... CANADA $ 145 ..... + 31.0% :mad0260: Red Jewel Paint... US $ 295 ... Canada $ 380 ...... + 22.4% I'd certainly like to know why GM feels justified in charging us these rediculous prices and then tell us one price has a higher markup over the others??? :bs: It should simply be US $ + 10% or 15% max NOT 30+% :mad0260: I.E.: Sunroof US $900 = Canada $990 @ 10% - $1,035 @ 15% ALL OPTIONS SHOULD BE AT THE SAME MARKUP TO THE :flag2: MSRP !!! |

I don't get how we have a free trade agreement yet it has no teeth to be sure that it is enforced.

PRAYING for under 25,500

The solstice (base model) is 23000 about same as the base camaro in the USA and 28 000 in Canada. It doesnt look good for us. |
I'm sorry this price increase has to happen to ya'll. IMO, it just ain't right.
|
We're all just big pushovers up here I guess.
It's the same thing with oil, even provincially. I heard Ontario's prices were under $1/L while in Sask and Alberta we're still at 1.10-1.20+, seriously wtf. People that make the burgers at McDonalds get them for cheap, why can't the people that produce the oil get it for a little cheaper?!?! I'm hoping for a <45000 SS2/RS, minimal to no options. I'll get suspension and power-adders a couple/few years down the road. |
Since today is the first day to order for us, I will be going in to the dealer over lunch. I'll let you know if I get any pricing news.
|
Hi Elie,
Did Chris give you any kind of date with respect to pricing availability? |
I'm going with the assumption that GM will price it out as per the competition, especially if they want to steal potential purchases from the competition.
2010 Camaro 2SS/RS = $35,380 US 2009 Mustang GT California special edition with all the goodies: Cdn = $36,000 ( after $5000 rebate ) US = $34,000 2009 Challenger R/T Cdn = $38,855 US = $36,500 |
^^^ I could live with a 2K differential! Only problem is that whenever GM of Canada thinks they have a hit on their hands, they crank up the profit margin with no regard to external factors.
|
So did any lucky canadian ordered one successfully this morning?
|
I am at the dealership right now!

The sales contract is written up with the car/options you want and no pricing. My dealership (Boulevard Cadillac Chevrolet) is selling at MSRP. Will deal with anyone from Ontario or Quebec. They require $1,000 deposit. I was confirmed order number 3 after 3 hours. |
My dealer does not know when the pricing will come out, but we put my order in ( Plaza Chevrolet in Montreal ). I too have been guaranteed MSRP. The manager at my dealer also believes that the pricing should be in line with what the Mustang & challenger are going for today. I still have the choice of backing out if GM decides to put the price out of my reach. I'm #2 in line !!
2SS/RS Black interior Silver Ice Metallic ( 1st choice was ABM ) Cyber grey rally stripes Sun roof Polished wheels |
Do you still order all the options you want and get a reference number?

1. The inferno orange package has two codes: AFi-Inferno Orange, Leather appointed seat trim, And then W1H -Inferno orange trim package:iono:
2. The GM supplier discount will be honored by my dealership as long as its eligble which they didnt know, they said wait a couple of monthes 3. I am not elgible for the discount because it is a friends discount who does not live at the same address, please help with this because i can REALLY use a discount, i thought that all you needed was an authorization number 4. They told me that if i was not eligble, they would work a deal with me, then i made sure that my $1000 was fully refundable 5. They have n clue when pricing will be out, but they said they will call me when they do get the prices. 6. I got a bill of sale but i don't think i have a reference number:iono: 7.Still excited though :happyanim: Tells me all the options i ordered and everything, cool to look at lol 8. And i just realized i didnt ask anything about dealer mark-up, was that a mistake, i don't think there will be any mark up, but if there is, my deposit is refundable 9. Ordering is just not the same unless you have pricing, theres always a hidden worry about the price and your budjet I saw a Malibu that started at 26, 2LT and a couple of options later was 32,530k, took pics so that i can remember lol the LT performance package was 2,935.00,sunroof was 1200, it was an LT2 Malibu, hoping the pricing is similar to this, if not, i think i might cry, by the looks of it, i think we are going to get raped on the packages mostly, like the RS, just got to wait until pricing to either be very happy, or not happy at all, should i have asked about the mark-up, i have asked before, and they said no, but i didnt this time, reguardless imstill excited 2010 Camaro 2dr Cpe 2LT Inferno Orange Metallic RS Package IOM Interior Trim Package :popcorn:Pricing Time |
They said 3

Just talked to another dealer who had no idea about it. I told him a few things and he is going to look into it and call back. This is to funny!
HAHA just got off the phone with him(he called back). Mainline Motors in Watrous!!! STUPID! or just the salesman I talked to. Said to call end of Feb and beginning of March with a cheque in your hand and when they come in, the first with the cash will drive the car home lol. He said he didn't know what colors were coming or anything. I said well thats why we put orders in now for them. He said they don't know what their allotment is and can't order til December maybe. lol. Another dealer says he should have pricing tomorrow morning?? Kinda doubt it! I don't know if its GM that is retarted and never sent out any information or there dealerships just don't care. I called 4 now and only 1 had the slightest idea. Needless to say I'm 3.5 hours away from the one who knows about it, but I have no ride home until tomorrow. |
But i was the first to the sold order today, the other peopole who had put a deposit were called about the order but hadnt gone to the dealership yet
