Second Annual
Camaro Fifth Gen meet at Wally’s Drive-In

282 Highway 410 N
Buckley, WA 98321

August 10th, 2013 starting at 11:00 AM

This year promises to be even bigger and better than last year. I have secured the Buckley Log Show grounds adjacent to Wally's, so we have a lot more room for MORE cars! So lets fill it up!
Also, many of you may remember the amazing number of Synergy Green Camaros that showed up last year. Well I've arranged to commemorate that occurence by repeating it- only this time we're going BIGGER! And to make it more worthwhile than just a great photo op, we will be doing it for a good cause. We will be assembling the worlds longest lineup of SGM Camaros to raise money for Fisher House.

In case you're not familiar, Fisher House Foundation donates "comfort homes," built on the grounds of major military and VA medical centers. These homes enable family members of service men and women to be close to their loved one at the most stressful times - during the hospitalization for an unexpected illness, disease, or injury.
You can read more about Fisher House here:
http://www.fisherhouse.org/about/
We'll be asking people who want to contribute, to pledge any amount of their choosing per every SGM that shows up. That means: more Synergy- more funds raised. So I'm putting out a special call to every SGM owner out there- please come if you can! Every car will help.
You don't have to donate to come to the event. And you don't have to come to the event to donate. I've posted a link below where you will be able to go, to donate directly. The final tally will be posted by August 11th along with the pictures. And of course, if you just want to donate a lump
sum, you can do that as well.

Now of course, the SGM gathering is just a part of the meet-n-eat. I expect to see every color and type of Camaro represented. And, while this is billed as a 5th gen event, just as last year, this event is open to all. That means all generations of Camaros, Chevy's, or any car that you feel you want to show off. All are welcome!

I also want to mention, in case you were wondering, this is not a car show, in that it is an informal gathering, not a judged competiton. Although,.. I might be looking at giving out some kind of trophy for distance traveled (like last year) and things like that. Just for fun, mind you...:first:

There's still a few months to go, so I will be looking for things to make the event even more fun. I've already had a few good suggestions from people. I'll be posting updates here as things develop. Feel free to post questions or PM me. I'll be happy to give you an answer or a blank stare.
I'm also working on a flyer that I'll come back and post up here when it's ready.

Now go mark August 10th on your calendar, and lets hope the weather will be as good as it was last year!

SEE YOU THERE!

That's a good idea, actually. We have discussed a few suggestions for after-event cruises, since Buckley is a pretty good jumping off point to a few destinations.

Not really. The entrance to Sunrise is just a little ways past the entrance to Crystal Mt. Ski Resort. Google maps puts it at an hour and a half and 58 miles to the visitor center. I've driven 410 quite a few times, and it always seems quicker than that. (Unless you get behind a motor home, or Subaru going 15 under.) Might be the scenery.
A less known, but even closer entrance to Mt. Rainier is the Carbon River Ranger Station, out past Carbonado. It's only about 18 miles, and Google says 50 minutes. The nice part about this little run is plenty of twisties along the way.
And speaking of Crystal Mt., they are open during the Summer. You can take a tram ride up to a lookout with a restaurant and outdoor cafe that overlooks Mt. Rainier. The Pacific NW Camaro Club will be doing another cruise there the weekend after the Wally's meet (Aug 17).

Here's some pics from last year's cruise to Crystal:

I had a lot of good pictures. It was hard to pick just a few.
