Making 1,000 mile road trip is wrapping the front end with blue tape ok?

What are your thoughts my car is all polished up ready to go but I dont want rockchips and bugs

Matt8892 06-03-2012 08:49 AM

Aside from blue painters tape looking dumb on the front, i dont see an issue. Unless it gets wet then baked on??? I dont know. I know i use a clear temporary bra that i cut and stick tothe front of my saturn when we tow it behind the motorhome. Maybe something like that would be better?

I do have an Aqua blue camaro so it won't be such an eyesore

Maybe the only issue would be if it gets baked on, like Matt8892 mentioned. Coming back from C5Fest last year, I taped the front of my car with blue painters tape and it came off okay. That trip was only 370 miles, but I do remember that it was pretty warm that day.

I'm not planning on keeping it on very long just to make the trip I'm moving from Denver to Houston so it's just a one way trip

I have all the essential Adams polishing stuff so I'm not really worried I just don't want a bunch of bugs and rock chips all over the front end

I'm leaving for a long trip on Thursday and this post made me think of getting a bra. The Colgan bras take 6 weeks to ship! So much for getting one by Wednesday.

Not sure how much time you got before your trip, but what about this??

Nice find. I'll call them tomorrow morning because I would hate to order and not have it here in time. Big waste of money.

I can't imagine going on a road trip and having the front end of my Camaro looking like crap.
I've been down to South Folrida and up into Canada with my SS.
After 19,000+ miles I've got no chips and bugs wash off.
Just my opinion.

You're lucky. After 33k mine looks a little rough in the front.
