2012 SS - Accident -
 

Dear C5 members,

I just rear-ended a VW Jetta with my 2012 SS as I din't notice its sudden stop (my fault)
This happened an hour ago and I was able to drive to an auto body shop (like 1/2 mile away)

Attached are the pictures. am waiting for thr insurance /body shop's call.
In the mean while, can some experienced guys shed some light on estimate and if it requires any mechanical repairs too. I

- there were no leaks and the front bumper,lights , etc were pushed inside
- a passer-by said the radiator might have gone

there's an absorber behind the bumper...looks like it might have actually worked.

if the radiator was "gone" you'd have likely noticed with fluid on the ground and/or overheating/high engine temps while driving to the body shop.

as for cost, i'm not sure. depends on what is all damaged. i bought the ZL1 bumper and painted it for my car for about $1500. i'm not sure how much an SS bumper costs.

glad you're okay, though. that's the most important thing.

So glad you are okay. Very sorry your car is broke, but now you may get that ZL1 front end you've always wanted!!

Glad you're ok. Looks to me like you only need a new bumper and MAYBE a passenger fender if the body shop can't get that one straightened out. You got lucky it didn't hit the radiator or headlights. :D

Look at it this way now you can mod the front end, JK glade you are OK.

Looks like just the bumper and maybe the fender, the headlight and fog light housing's look to be just fine. Hopefully none of the wiring harness is to damaged.

I see new side marker's in your future, also maybe time for that front end swap??

I need a front bumper cover only and have not found a used one for decent price. They can be had for about $260 and up and would still need painted. Add labor and it's close to $1000 for stock SS bumper only. I did find one place online that can get me one painted and I could pick it up nearby in Chicago.

i would say you need a new front fascia and maybe a pass side headlight....cant tell from the pics if its sctrached you also need a new fender your looking around 1200 i think but you can find bumpers for 200 and fenders are 100. the headlights are 800each from the dealer but if you look around you can get one for 300-400 if you need one pm me i can get you one cheap
