I'll be installing V6owner's as soon as he gets it in. I would also like to send you my factory "Hurst" leather knob to have this done. I have the Hurst billet shifter but I'm using the stock style handle and then added the GM Hurst knob. Let me know if this can be done with either a black, red, or orange momentary button on it.

Thanks.

I have a GM/HURST shifter knob that I am using for test purposes. I should know if it will work by next week sometime, I will let you know.

The colored button should be no problem

I had a chance to screw around with the Hurst/GM knob and was successful at installing the switch and wiring so I will be able to do the factory knobs as well and will also offer them as a complete unitl. Here are a couple of pics of the prototype. I didn't do anything with the button but your color choice will be no problem.

I should be set up this coming week so that you can ship me your knob and in one day I can ship it back with switch installed. The price is very reasonable.

I would say yes. LOL

I am waiting on switches but I do have enough to do four shifters so I can hook you up. I'm curious to know what color stitching is on your shifter, I ordered a couple and would like to have a replacement for yours just in case.

Here are a couple of pics of the manual shifter, one with a red and one with a black switch. I will be able to do switches in any of the colors I offer the pistolgrip shifters and strut covers in.

J-Rod6410 11-06-2012 10:16 AM

Alright man looks awesome. I want you to install it in my factory Hurst knob which is identical to your prototype w/ inferno orange stiching. If you can do an inferno matching button that would be great or if not then a red button would work. Let me know how you wanna do this. Do I ship you mine or do you do an exchange deal? Let me know asap so we can get this done! I have a spare knob to use if I need to send you mine.

Thanks again for doing this!

My son would go for it but I wish it was that easy. I don't really do "theme Bikes" as such, my theme is basically look good and go like hell.

The red button is no problem. When ever you are ready send me your shifter and I will get it done.

My shipping address is

Carter's Fab & Design Co

Just send a PM to let me know when and how it's coming. If you ship them USPS Priority Mail it will be inexpensive and get here in 2-3 days but that is your choice.

Installing the switch in a stock knob is not a problem, it is structually the same as the Hurst/GM knob.

Deke736 11-07-2012 10:57 AM

Man, why didn't I think of having you modify the stock knob?! J/K I love the CF pistol grip style with the line lock switch you made for me!

Hi Jaime, your shifter is done. You will see in the photo where you will need to drill the hole in the plastic chrome base.

Finally had a few shifters come in for those who may want to by them finished rather than sending in their own. I have an auto in bone stiching, red and yellow. I will be doing a few yellow switches tomorrow to add to inventory. In the manual I have the factory hurst shifters in bone and orange stitching.
