Does anyone make a CF Cold Air Intake?
I haven't seen one, but one great way to keep the air cold in a cold air intake is to make the pick up tube out of Carbon Fiber which would seriously reduce heat soak and heat transfer from the tube to the air. Plus it would look sweet with a CF hood, and under hood accessories.

We will have a real one that matches our Carbon fiber Underhood products.
Here is our other carbon fiber products as of 08-21-2009 http://i29.tinypic.com/ajl6p5.jpg http://i30.tinypic.com/2z4z129.jpg http://i31.tinypic.com/bjzok.jpg |

Question reguarding heat transfer....
Heat tranfer reduces the benefit of a CAI, and plastic/poly offer better resistance than metal. What if a CAI was made of plastic and had a outer
layer of insulation on it as well as the exterior of the air box that faces the engine compartment or was lined with a insulated interior? A supplier on here had some numbers that claimed even a few degrees cooler in the intake temp. made several more hp. |
The fully inclosed one looks great so I can imagine the CF would look awesome. We have CF on our steering wheel..
We will be getting some CAI at some point. Major mods first for our DSVcustoms car. Interior, wheels, lowering, and Borla...waiting to see what else comes out...Sad part is we will not have it all by the Mag photo shoot...LOL |

Andy (ADM Performance), that is exactly what I was looking for, a CAI to match your underhood CF accent pieces. Hopefully they will match the hood (and eventually trunk and spolier) that RK Sport is making. Any plans in the future for hoods/trunks/spoilers/interior pieces in CF from ADM???
