9.55" crank pulley swap

What kind of HP gains can I expect with an Inovators West balancer w/ 9.55" pulley and Lingenfelter CAI? using an sct x3 93 octane tune.
Thanks in advance.

auto 530rwhp 6spd 545rwhp...guess

Blown355 01-20-2013 12:31 PM

I went from 500rwhp to 552rwhp with just the 8.66. "No tune". I have a 9.5 pulley also, but am waiting till spring to install it, and get a tune.

Idk, I installed mine w/air raid cai and jre tune just haven't dyno'd it yet. Hoping for close to 600rwhp but we will see.

cool, have you driven it yet to "feel" the difference? and are you using the sct x3 tuner ? I went with the x3 and 9.55" pulley with Lingenfelter CAI....so did you get it tuned for 93 or 100+ octane?

Nemisis 01-20-2013 09:08 PM

Yes, using the sct x3 and....it's a big time difference in how it feels and drives now. If people think the tires suck stock, start modifying your z and you'll see how useless they really are. We only have 91 here so that's what it's tuned for.

well that sould literall be around 590-600hp manual and 560-570 auto

that is 13spi with a cold air.

I know in testing on a manual they hit 575 with the rotofab intake 8.6 lower pulley on the stock tune with octane.

I am pretty sure I have seen lingenfelter cars in the 580-600hp range. they use the 2.55 upper but that is the same overdrive as the 9.55 lower.

Well got her back today.....HOLY S$*%....amazing what a little boost will do. I am now pushing over the stock boost limit and she kicks out quit easily..so not sure exactly what my max boost levels are yet. I had to light them up at a stop light just to get some stick to test it. (3 deg F here tonight) ..but...Can definitely feel the gains. requesting the new 9.55" pulley / CAI tune from Ted tomorrow. I think I am going to run the torco as well. I guess there is a place not far from here that does dyno testing...might look into that some day. Thanks to my friend Danny for hooking me up with a reliable, knowledgeable mechanic...I really didn't mind paying a few bucks to have this done right vs baptism by fire.

Got tune today. Loaded to sct x3. will load it to car in a couple hours. JRE recommended going w/ a 93 octane tune for this set up if not racing . will post later about how it feels and if it was successful.

Success. I'm done....yeah right.... Thats plenty of power.....almost... I was pleasantly surprised by the gains. Very noticeable. I will do some data logging so Ted can fine tune . I did have one weird incident after warming the tires( by warming I mean smoke visible from a qtr mile or so. Hey, it's 10 degrees here so i had no option if I wanted some bite)...anyway....I got a MAF sensor code after my 0-80 run as I was stoping at the stop sign.... and it reduced my power to just enough to crawl home.........had I not had my sct x3 with me to clear the DTC's...It would have been a slow drive home. Once cleared, I ran hard a few more times from 0-100 or so with no codes or problems..not sure what to think of that incident. So to sum it up....8-10%(ballpark guess) power gains are very noticeable! Spring can't come soon enough..
