I think this is where I post this

I am getting a message on the dash saying roll my driver side window all the way down and all the way back up. I do it but it does nothing. My window goes down a tad when I open it (normal yes) but then it wont go back up unless I go over to the passenger side and crawl to roll up up. I have had this problem before and they replaced the motors and it was great for months now it is happening again. Anyone know anything about this?

So, when you roll the windows down all the way and then roll them all the way back up it does nothing?

Try rolling the windows down all the way, and hold the switch there for a good three seconds. Then, roll them all the way up and hold the switch there for another good three seconds. See if that changes anything.

Sometimes you need to do it few times before the recalibration takes. Other times the windows need recalibrated before the message pops up. The think we'll all hate this feature in a few years. It's an engineering brain fart in my opinion.

Its when ur indexing windows need to be re-calibrated. My car would show that message sometimes but when i would roll it down and then back up it would be fine.

x2 - you need to hold it for a few seconds - count to 5 then go back up.

I been going through the passengers side to roll the window up. It was getting annoying. I help it up and down. And its fine for now

I had this same problem last week the steps I took this goes by what the manual says

1. With the door shut and the ignition on and the car in park roll down the window.
2. Roll the window back up hold your the switch with your finger for a few seconds and the light will turn off.

The fact our windows need to be calibrated is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. Just thought I would throw that out there.

eh... small price to pay for a hardtop with good window seals. If the windows didnt roll down slightly to get out, it would be a compression seal around the top of the window and at high speeds, the door would flex and the window would gap away from the seal.

having the window roll down slightly means the window can seal in a channel and be held in place securely at high speeds without gapping.

I would imagine it would be damaging to have the window all the way up when the door is being opened, forcing the window out of that channel sideways. Cant imagine it being a good deal to have the window bent out around the outer edge of the channel when the door is being closed.

so, yeah I can see how it might be dumb in some respects, a few seconds of rolling down, holding and rolling up seem a small price to pay for as often as it needs to be done.

Yep, when I replaced my amp I got the message. But I did the above steps and haven't had a problem since.
