Paintless Dent Repair @ C5Fest II?

Hello, At last year's C5Fest I was able to attend and bring my PDR know-how to the members of this great forum. I am considering it again for this years big event but there are many more variables this time around. I live in Delaware on the east coast and this is a pretty long drive for me to not have a substantial amount of business lined up prior to the trip. This is a ~2300-2400 mile round trip and not doing a lot of dent repairs is not an option for me. Factoring in drive time (about 4 days of driving) this years trip will be twice as long. My goal, like last year is to earn back my travel expenses, make-up for unscheduled time off from work, and meet a bunch of new friends from the forum. Last year I repaired about 30 cars and I think everyone would say that they were more than satisfied. However to make this trip a success I would have to do about 15-25 cars per day with an average repair time of 15-45 minutes most likely (each car will vary). Once again, my rates will be discounted for the show. My normal rates are $75-100 per DENT, but at the show I should be around $50-100 per CAR (I reserve the right to determine if the car's damages exceed $100). I will accept cash and paypal for repairs. For those interested, here is the thread from last year LINK Please feel free to post if you think it's likely you'd want any dings or dents fixed at the show, post pics of your dent if you want or even send me a PM with photos. I will keep track of the potential repairs to determine if I'll be able to pull this trip off...Even if I don't make the trip, thanks for your consideration by checking this thread!! :chevy:

For those of you attending the C5Fest and are wondering what Paintless Dent Repair is, it is a process of resculpting a damaged metal area of your car (ding, dent, crease, hail damage, etc) that doesn't affect the factory finish. Of course there are some exceptions but if the metal has not been stretched and the paint is not chipped or scratched beneath the surface chances are good that your ding or dent can be repaired to the point you'd never know it was there. A typical door ding the size of a nickel or quarter can be repaired in 15-20 minutes. Typical areas on most cars that are difficult to address are pillars, above and in front of rear wheels, aluminum panels, damage within 1/2'-1" from an edge. Specifically with the new Camaro, the area on the 1/4 panels in front of the rear wheel are time consuming because most owners will not want their door jambs drilled for access to the inside of the 1/4 panel and the interior trim is tedious to remove and reinstall therefore driving up cost. For those nervous about working on your Camaro especially, be confident I would never do anything to the car that would make it worse. I know all the ins and outs of the 4th and 5th gen Camaros and you can be sure if I think I can get it, you'll be happy with the repair. I've repaired my share of Camaros and have already repaired the newly released convertible (several of them in fact) at the Port of Wilmington (DE). I pride myself in being open and honest and what your expectations should be before repairs begin. Below I've attached some pictures of some recent repairs I've done locally, so you can be sure your car is in good hands at the fest.

Here's some recent repairs I've done for those curious about my workmanship. I don't plan on getting involved in anything as intense as this Altima but this is a great example how effective PDR can be even with what you'd think would be impossible to repair without body work and paint. This repair took about 3.5 hours and I had to take the entire door off the car and placed it on a stand. There's pretty much nothing I won't try if I think the metal can be worked with... The Equinox in the second set of pics, is more in line with something I could repair quickly at the show and move on to the next car.

This is my wife's 2010 Equinox that got hit at the mall. This one took about 2.5-3 hours.

Wow not a single response so far? :confused0068: People were all over this last year...Hmmm, I'll keep this going til the end of next week or so. If the response is still low, I guess I saved myself a ton of mileage on my Camaro. ;)

I'm suprised myself... you had pretty steady business all weekend last year...

I know the rate you quoted is crazy low!
If you just showed up the work would come, but the problem is, how much work is gonna be there?
Good luck with this.

I have a buddy that has a used car lot in PHX, want me to give him a shout and see what he says? PM me if you want.

As much as I appreciate the offer, I would really like to stay on site at the speedway, I had a blast talking to other vendors and forum members between repairs. I don't have any doubt I'd get work if I showed up, but yes, the BIG question is how much? If it makes any difference, my friend Bryan is considering taking the trip with me. He repairs leather, vinyl , and plastics. Anyone that has a small blemish in their interior may want to hook up with him. But like me, he would also need enough work to justify the trip and time away from regular work...

If you drum up enough interest to make it worth your while I have two small dents in my passenger door I'd like taken care of. ;)
