Hello all!

I'm new to the forum...
Well new in the sense that I've just become a member, but I've been lurking for months.

I've been dying to do a restoration project, and due to where I live, there aren't too many old camaros lying around.

In fact, there are none.

At all...

SO, on a quest to find some hunk of junk beater to hook around in till school starts up again in September, I stumbled upon this...

I'm not 100% sure what year it is, and seeing as it was after hours, I couldn't ask anyone at the lot, because there was no one there, haha.

I have every intention of heading back tomorrow or Tuesday to get some information.

Hopefully, in the mean time, someone (or all of you) can help an enthusiast-in-training out!

What year is this?
I think it's some where between 1976 and 1981?
Please correct me if I'm wrong!

The interior is rough, and I don't even know if it runs.
I just got excited when I saw it on the side of the road today and decided to snap a few shots to show you guys.

What would you pay if you were going to buy this.
a) if it runs?
b) if it doesn't run?

I'd love some opinions and other stuff, and I may put this post into the DIY section too...

definately a late second gen model bc of its front end. but price wise i wouldnt know

Honestly, looks like a 79-80 to me.

Outside looks okay... rear quarter after the left rear wheel looks pretty bad. The exterior and interior can be fixed and/or used as is until you want to fix it... it's the drive train that should really decide whether you want to a) buy it and b) worth fixing up at all.

I would say get some more info in regards to the drive train. What type of engine is it, how long has it been sitting, tune up's/fluid changes etc. Same with the transmission and rear end. Then post back up here and we can give you a close estimate.

I would venture to say it may be a 78. If I could see the dash I could tell you for sure. As for price, it would be hard to say without some more info on the car. Make sure and check the rear frame rails very carefully. 2nd generations had a bad problem of rear frame rot. Though these can be replaced they are a real pain. Almost all 2nd gens rot on the floor and they are pretty easy and cheap to replace. Let us know if you get her.

The front and rear bumpers tell you it's a '78-'81. The small holes in the grille mesh (assuming the grille is original) narrows it down to either a 1980 or 1981. The car looks pretty rough overall. Like others said, the weak parts of the 2nd gen Camaro are the floor pans and rear 1/4 panels. Rust like to grow in these areas. The T-tops don't help with this, lol. The car looks like a sport coupe....I wouldn't be surprised if it had a V6. Based on these observations, I would not pay more than $750 if it runs and $500 if it does not run.

It didn't even have an engine, and as much as I'd like to start this project, I need something that runs.

I did recieve a special treat the other day though, and will be posting pictures in 5th gen, like... now.
