Camaro lands in Ankeny, IA!
 

Hello to those of you in Central Iowa.

I am excited for the new Camaro and did see one today. I made a pass through Karl Chevrolet in Ankeny, just to see if by chance anything was there. They do now have one on the lot and it may be around for a little bit.

Looking at all of the things posted on this site there should be a few SSs coming in to the dealership soon that are sold.

The car is a Victory Red 1LT with black interior, RS pkg, Convenience & Connectivity pkg, and Auto trans. I am pretty sure it just arrived today (4/21). You just may have seen it out on the street or I-35 today as a few people from the dealership were driving it. I am pretty sure it will be there on display. No, it's not an SS but it is cool to see that they are getting to be available.

I didn't really get too great of pictures as it was there and gone again for those that were driving it.

I never thought about ordering from Karl back in October dang it, my father was good friends with Karl Moyer years ago. It took a couple months before it dawned on me to check with them but by that time, they already had 16 preorders.

I just got those pics the other day from Karl Chev. I ordered from there back in Oct and was #20 out of their 43 allocations. My order just got picked up this cycle and it hopefully should be in by the end of May - hopefully. I ordered a Black 2SS/RS. They agreed to do MSRP there, while the dealership in Sioux Falls here wanted 10K over.

Yup, I test drove her, she's awesome :-D be more fun if she was manual, but seeing as thats the first Camaro I've seen AND test drove, I'm not complaining lol. Anyone know if Karl's is doing anything for the unveiling ceremonies?

I havent heard anything from my sales guy there. I saw they had a pretty good video on the local news also.

I'm glad I stirred up some interest! I would love to get a new SS Camaro!

I was down in Ankeny this past weekend and see that they had a sold tag on that car and it is on the showroom floor. Someone decided they liked it!

I have been checking on a local Camaro forum and see that another dealer in the area is planning on having a Camaro party or whatever. This will be at Bob Brown Chevy on Sat. May 16th. The link below will take you to that topic and hopefully will be where they have any discussion or updates.

Lol, I remember running around Bob Brown's place when I was a little kid, last place my father was a salesmen in Des Moines. Manager in truck sales if I remember correctly.

Awesome, thanks for that update! argh, waiting till January to get my Camaro is going to be torture if I start seeing them on the streets regularly lol.

According to someone from the Mid-Iowa Camaro Club, feel free to show up around 9 or so for the unveiling on Saturday.
