MBS 04-27-2013 11:12 PM

Hello all Looks like you had a great day and picked the best day yet this year for a drive , Wish I could of joined you but I found your group too late . Anyways Thanks you for letting me in your group and look forward to meeting you all,
What I had in mind is on May 17th at Road America in Elkhart Lake they just started something last year called a "sunset cruise" I went on 1 of the 2 the y had last year and had a real good time there were a couple other Camaros there but we were way out numbered by Mustangs , Road America allows you to drive 3 laps around the 4.2 mile track of course at low speeds (,psss I did back off the group a couple of times and hit the turns pretty good ) Typically it starts like at 6.00 pm I believe and you have to go to a quick meeting and it costs $20 to go on the track, The town has some nice places to eat and have some drinks after or before the event . Hope I did not speak out of turn here ,just wanted to throw this out there ,You can go to roadamerica.com and see more , It is a real causal event ,

Bcarr 04-28-2013 07:36 AM

Sorry I missed you guys as well. We had an extended baseball practice for my son since the weather finally broke. I'll catch up next time! Looks like you had a great time!

The link is working now and I filled it out .

WiSSDiver 04-28-2013 11:07 AM

Great to meet everyone yesterday. What an awesome day.

xkloid 04-29-2013 12:03 AM

Damn wish I could have went for the pictures afterwards :( It was a fun meetup anyway. I will be posting the link to the website for the club by Tuesday, probably tomorrow. But as I said I had to demo my kitchen and dig a french drain, so I was busy. It will not be a problem tomorrow, so I will get on the site stuff asap. Nick (xkloid)

Tyler360 04-29-2013 08:37 AM

 Its great to finally have a club in Wisconsin! I wish I could have made it down this past weekend but maybe next time? Also, how many of you attend the Iola Old Car Show? Perhaps a meet and cruise could be arranged there?

Ok I purchased the domain badgerstatecamaro.com but the site will not be open for a day or two. You can email me pictures for the time being at xkloid@wi.rr.com. whoever has the stadium and art museum pics, please send them so I can use them on the site. If a logo is made, I will need a copy of that also. Nick:thumbsup:

cbuchak2000 04-29-2013 05:39 PM

Nick,
I'm working on some Logo ideas. The impression I got from everyone, and correct me if I am wrong is that we were thinking something simple and clean.... Maybe initials with a car outline, wisconsin in the background..... I'll work on a few and run them by you all and see what you think.

Thanks,
Chad

cbuchak2000 04-29-2013 05:41 PM

The Iola old car show would be a great overnight deal for everyone down here. Its not a bad drive, I'm thinking we could go up Friday night, look at some of the cars there and head back saturday afternoon. If anyone is interested I'd like to get a group to go up.

Thanks Nick!!! Can't wait!! :pop2: Let me know if you need help with anything. I can maybe find a newsletter template, to send out like a monthly update? Definitely a calendar of some type at some point.

I'll make sure to get you some of the photos I took. Also, as a cool idea, we could do a "photo assignment" every couple of weeks, for members to go out and take photos of their Camaros, so that we always have fresh photos of members cars. Just a thought...:iono:

If we do this, where would the plan be for staying overnight?

cbuchak2000 04-29-2013 06:03 PM

we reserve rooms at a hotel a couple miles away, we've done it for years so if there is some interest I can check on reserving a few extras for us this week.

MBS 04-29-2013 07:32 PM

Way to go guys , I really appreciate all the work you guys are doing , It takes time to do all that , and "ain't nobody got the time for that" lol, I would meet up with you guys at the Iola car show , I love watching the auctions there , and the place is HUGE, with awesome classics every year , what weekend is the show this year? ,

July 11-14th...

And Chad, the only reason I was asking is because I have family in Point...

Raptor3141 04-29-2013 07:41 PM

Its July 11-14.

Wish I could go but, I will just be coming back off a 2.5 week driving vacation. Won't be able to swing this one.

I appreciate all the work Chad, Jeremy and Nicholas.

WiSSDiver 04-29-2013 07:46 PM

Ill be at scout camp with my boys through that Saturday.

Mantis RS 04-29-2013 07:50 PM

I know this is short notice, but wanted to pass this along to those that might be interested in joining. Currently 65 cars signed up to hangout.

I was planning on driving down to The Westin Hotel in Itasca and driving back with their large group just to get video. However, if a large enough group from Wisconsin wanted to attend, I would be down for making a short country cruise into Rockford as well.

You can find more information by following the link below:

cbuchak2000 04-29-2013 08:55 PM

That's cool Jeremy..... Good excuse to take the car for a ride! I figured it would be a tough time of year to get people together that close to independence day, but maybe we'll be able to get a few cars together. we can play it by ear.

xkloid 04-30-2013 01:42 AM

Nevermind. Here is the twitter account.

Mantis RS 04-30-2013 04:43 AM

Like how it's looking so far Nick. I'll try to get you my photos this afternoon when I get off work.

xkloid 04-30-2013 09:15 AM

I used a theme from a CMS package and it will take a lot of modifying, so there is plenty of work to do, but at least I can do it while it is up and running. I will get the forums up today for sure. Lets hope we get people signed up soon.

Raptor3141 04-30-2013 11:49 AM

Looks good. I registered on the site so, if you need something tested using a standard user account, let me know.

Are you still going? If so where are you meeting up with the group.

Mantis RS 04-30-2013 01:23 PM

I'll send a mass e-mail out to those that have filled out the form for the contact list.

Now with the e107 CMS, you can make certain pages available only to a select user group, correct. This might be an easy way to always have the contact list available without having to go though google.

Yes, my cousin is coming in to town and going. I was originally planning on driving the hour to meet them in Itasca and cruising back with the big group, but unsure if I want to deal with the construction. If we had a large enough group coming from Wisconsin, I'd be tempted to make a little cruise from here down to there. I'll probably leave it up to my cousin. I know Mark (Zip3151) is planning on just going to Hooters early, before everyone pulls in.

xkloid 04-30-2013 06:38 PM

That's correct Mantis, I will create a user group for actual members of the club as opposed to possibly being just a site member, that way club members will have access and others will not. It will take some time to tweak everything, like a month,....lol

Cool, once we get everything figured out, we can create a "Contact List" page only viewable by members, that we can keep the each other numbers & emails in a central location.

Right now I'm just doing some post processing on a couple of photos, then I'll send them your way.

Just sent out an e-mail to everyone on the contact list so far to remind them to sign up on the site.

Zip3151 04-30-2013 08:36 PM

Great main page photo.... Like the font and out line. Great work

xkloid 05-01-2013 03:55 AM

Its starting to come together, users can add photos, profile music, videos. There is a club gallery, pm messages, and a club calendar. Over time I will add more content but I am plum tuckered out.

This place is about a mile away from my house. I'm definitely in. Georgie Porgies has awesome burgers & ice cream. Awesome meeting place. They do car shows-meet & greets-cruise nights every saturday from 4pm to 8pm. 100 or so cars. Great time

Mitch

WiSSDiver 05-08-2013 02:38 AM

I'm a maybe at this point. Been going pretty much non-stop since before our first meet so we'll see.

Tyler360 05-08-2013 09:39 AM

Ok, sorry for taking so long to reply for the Iola Car Show. Anyways, theres a small motel right in Iola otherwise it may be cheaper to stay in Waupaca which is about 10 or so miles away. Plus a lot of people from the car show like to meet up at the Burger King there and kinda have a mini car show sort of speak. Im always seeing all kinds of 4th gen camaros, mustangs, classics, and other cars parked there on the weekends with people checking each others cars out. I haven't stopped in there myself yet but I can look into it if anyone is interested in stopping there after the show.

Mantis RS 05-09-2013 03:53 PM

If I do Iola, I will probably stay with family in Stevens Point and drive over to meet everyone.
