How you did it?

Ok C5 family! i saw the thread of how much people spend on their mods... averaged of 10k! now i know some has "the better economical situation" but i don't think all of it are the same... so this is for the poor like me that one way or other make their dream car come to life! and there is my question??? How you did it? saving? loan? giving up things? what did you change to get that extra cash to make it happend?:respekt:

I gave up buying flooring for my house. After 2 years it has worn down to the point where you don't get a sliver at EVERY step you take. Now its about 1 in 5 haha

It's not like we all have 10 grand to dump all at once. One mod, 500, another mod 800, another mod 1000, another mod 1500, another mod 300. They all add up and it takes time to build our cars the way we do. How do we pay for them? Some of us have very good careers and make really good money. So what may be alot of money for some isn't as much for others. A doctor can make 400,000 to a million a year. A really good salesman can make a 100,000 a year. A single person with no debt can easily spend money on mods, without children, housepayment, medical insurance, etc... It is all about priority and what is important to you of where you spend your money. Going to the bars and spending 50-100 bucks drinking is not where I spend my money. Saving and wisely budgeting your money.

My car is my only toy,I too am on a tight budget. I get some small bonuses from work,so I use that for mods it's the only play money I really get. I'm just keeping it simple, new grille & gauge pack are what I am working on for now. Just have fun & do what you can afford, good luck.

no house, very cheap rent, no cell, no tv, no debt besides my car and truck. Almost all my income can go to vehicles lol

House is paid off, both cars are paid off, Single, so I don't have a wife or kids to suck my bank account dry.

Do one thing at a time, save up for big mods. sometimes getting to your goal can be more fun than achieving it. just enjoy it along the way.

Part of my budget goes directly to mods. A hundred bucks a paycheck may not seem like a lot, but two months.... There is an intake. Another two... Heritage grill. I have patience and all the time in the world to mod.

You can use your credit cards, your tax return, sell other toys you don't use (motorcycles, jet ski, stuff like that)., you could get another part time job to extra cash, make a hobby into a weekend job.

I shoot weddings as a photographer as a side job, it's only weekends and I only do a few a year. So, every wedding I shoot is some of my play money. If you can repair computers that is a great way to make extra cash. Turn a hobby into a money maker for you:)

mods are fun but the car is awsome stock. A little bit at a time is my advice

I waited until the kids were out of college and the mortgage was paid off. Most people don't do it all at once, it happens over time.
