Just got a new DD, question about Cquartz Flyby 30
2 Attachment(s)
just got a 15 Silverado on Friday. When we bought it I declined any cleaning from the dealer. It was filthy, but it was still plastic wrapped on the inside. I took 1 before pic to show how dirty it was.
Saturday: Washed it with Dawn. Clayed with speedy prep towel, had to hit each panel 2x to get it all. Checked for swirls with a bright light, couldn't find any, so I figured I would polish one panel to see if it made a difference. Brought out the PC and did 1 panel with the SF 4500, could not tell that it was any better, what the heck onto sealer. Sealed with Blackfire Wet Diamond, 1 coat let it sit for about 30 min (temp was about 55) buffed it off with MM microfiber. looks amazing. Took about 6 hours. Today I applied the Cquartz Flyby 30 to the windshield. Wondering about the application process. 1. Windshield was clean from yesterday, so wiped down with Eraser 2. Used the ceriglass to clean the windshield, then washed it off and more Eraser. 3. When applying the Flyby 30, I did it just like the product video shows, it says to wipe off excess after 1 min. so i put it on half the windshield, then wiped it of with included orange microfiber. It was very rough trying to wipe it off...dont know if I wiped any off or not. The stuff looked like it was immediately drying as I applied it (outside temp was about 50). I had previously done the other DD and the other truck we traded in, with satisfactory results, but not great. Had some streaking from the application. Just wondering if there are any tips you all might have. thanks. before pic: Attachment 688091 after pic: Attachment 688092 |

Anybody have any application tips on the Flyby30?
|
Did you apply it outside in direct sunlight ?
|
No it was in the shade. The Temps were about 50. Even with the cool temps, the stuff seems like it dries instantly. The rubbing off of excess material as they say with the provided mf. Was difficult. It hasn't rained since I put it on yet so I will see once it rains.

1 min is too long. I do only about 2sq ft at a time. 30sec-45sec before wiping. Much easier.

I will try that next time. Basically do the windshield in quarters
