Z/28 vs GT500
It's widely thought on the interwebs that the GT500 is going to be quicker than the Z/28 due to it's expected weight advantage. But the CTS-V with the LSA that the Z/28 will (likely) get has a 40 lb/ft torque advantage and all my research shows a consensus of a 3.9 0-60, versus the 4.0 - 4.4 times I see for the Stang. Besides, I seriously doubt Chevy, oops... Chevrolet will follow up with an inferior product. What do you guys think?

To hard to say right now. I think Ford is playing a waiting game right now, at least they have hinted at it.
They could easily add another 100 hp to the GT500. I think the Z/28 will come out and be right at or a little faster than the GT500. I think Ford answers by upping the hp of the GT500. HP wars are good. |
Here are some opinions from both sides of the picture.

660 hp is nothing for the GT500 and ford will even warranty at those levels. |

Because I said so. :sm0: The reality is we don't know NEAR enough about the Z to guess how it'll perform. All we've got is a piece of paper taped to the dashboard of a cobbled together test-mule that says 6.2L Supercharged. :iono: That said -- you're last statement is dead-on, I think. They're not going to come "late" to the game with an inferior product. So....expect something good. ;) |
