Great find! It's nice to see this video in comparison to the new one. You can see the difference in velocity as the car enters the turns. The new Z is so much flatter and gets back to the gas so much sooner.

The few things I notice are
1) how much more PLANTED the new car is (much less roll)
2) how much DEEPER and powerful the motor sounds
3) how it seems to MAINTAIN VELOCITY in peak TORQUE range

It seems to have the traits you'd want to see in the Best Mixed Martial Arts fighter.... Strength, Speed, Agility, Stamina, and Tightly integrated from head to toe. And, it will be the top street fighter and winner consistently on the pro circuit (road course, nascar, drag). I really don't give a rats... @#** about drifting, but that's about as stylish as "pants on the ground" to me anyway. Sorry if I'm old school LOL.

How do they ship these cars to Germany? By Cargo planes? Certainly not be Sea, since it will take over four weeks. I see so many car manufactures takes cars to Germany for testing.

Come on guys, you can't go by the sound you hear from a recording like that. They sure didn't have a professional movie sound and film crew doing the filming. So I would just wait before passing any opinions on about the sound unti you can hear it in person. Besides how good is your computer sound system too?

all you can really do is compare the differences between stock and this cars sound on your computer. and if you know how the stock sounds in person then you might have a general idea of what it will sound like. BUT it's just an idea. because laptop speakers, recording mic and even the compression format they chose has an effect on what we here from our computer.

That car is a beast. I can't wait ton get one!

alexcfwu 10-09-2010 04:41 PM

 I can't wait to own this new beast. How likely is this car able to break CTS-V's time on the ring? It looks like a much better handling car when attacking the corners than the 2009 CTS-V video. I am sure the straight line acceleration is a bit faster since it is supposed to be lighter than the CTS-V.

.....just counting down the days on the Z28.....I hope they make it a regular RPO and not a limited production run. I am glad I held off on purchasing because that model is the be all to end all. I gotta have one.

OldScoolCamaro 10-09-2010 05:21 PM

I agree...the Mustangs always have had a superior exhaust note....I still mopped 'em up with the stock LS1...but they had a sweeter factory sound.....

WOW!!!

Maybe a slight weight reduction to 3,800 or less and 560hp with it being better planted and even better stopping? Plus much better at putting it to the ground than the competition (yes I am talking about you GT500 guys...no disrespect but it's no secret they are hard to get planted).

The ZR1 weighs 125 lbs more than a base coupe. That is with an aluminum frame (vs steel), gobs of carbon fibre (vs fibre glass), and balsa wood in the floor (vs ???). The chances that they could shave 50 lbs off the Camaro while supercharging it is slim to nil. The problem is that when you add a supercharger and intercooler, and beef up the suspension and brakes and whatever else they did, you add weight. More weight than you can hope to save unless you go with a gutted, stripped down street-legal race car.

PLEASE MAKE IT AFFORDABLE GM!

I believe the base package with like a 2SS, and then one could add some more goodies on top of that, like a higher performing Track Pack and a higher-level interior treatment. I know that, except for the sunroof, I'd like a pretty well loaded one, but we're going to have to wait to see what happens. I'm sure, with a Track Pack and trim level upgrade, it'll easily get into the neighborhood you're thinking, but I'd be pretty happy with a RS2SS-type base level. I don't really think I'd be too interested in something like drilled rotors, Recaro seats, or some of those other add-ons we see in other cars.

I'm still struck by how loud the blower is when it takes off for another run down the track. I'm sure the wall amplified it, but I'm thinking we'll see a bump in boost, maybe to 10 or 11 psi. That'd probably be good for almost 600 HP if they can use a lower restriction dual mode exhaust - they're good for something like 6 HP on the earlier LS3 'Vettes, no?

It's a very exciting time for a Zed fan :D:drool::popcorn::headbang:

Yar I would agree and can only hope the base has awesome suspension. Recaro ect I really dont want or need but I would want full drivetrain and suspension performance options, I can hope and pray however I know the 500GT with track package, SVT I think? puts that price at 58K+ before taxes over 60K out the door >.< ouch! Yar man the blower does sound sweet!

I believe GM will do the right thing...Carbon fiber drive shaft, carbon fiber hood, lighter weight mags and wheels, racing seats (hopefully) and how knows what other goodies are in stored. I am remaining very positive and praying for no electric windows-mirrors..etc etc. The bare essentials....

cozbyrt 10-10-2010 04:25 PM

That thing sounds mean!

96/10SS 10-10-2010 04:39 PM

sounds beastly!!!

Leolee 10-10-2010 05:38 PM

i dont want to come off rude or anything but all this talk of no power windows, no radio, no airbags, racing sparco seats, just "bare essentials" or "stripped" car from a production line is not going to happen. the gt500 has all luxury items plus more with nav. the z-28 needs to sell, it needs to be all the ss has plus more. its probably going to be the same or more than the gt500 as far as price (my opinion), its just being realistic thats all but i am excited for the z-28 to come out, i'll probably be trading the ss for it when it does.

lol seriously. it's 2010. the car will have power windows, standard.

91Z28350 10-10-2010 08:20 PM

I was writing precisely the same thing. Then I said why? The people who believe that they will get a crank window engine in a box will either buy what comes out or move on, either way it affects me not one damn bit.

For anyone from GM who is watching, I will take mine loaded thank you.

BRITCAM5 10-10-2010 08:31 PM

That's serious stuff when you test a car on a track like that! Sounding like it'll be one serious car!!!

Shifty 6 10-11-2010 01:38 PM

Doesn't seem to be a lot of body roll.

Affordable is relative. To some, a Rolls Royce is easily affordable. Others can't even consider buying a new ... anything.

The Camaro appears to be running the same brakes as the CTS-V. It appears to be using the same engine as the CTS-V. It is lighter than the CTS-V. By appearances, the Camaro should be able to best the CTS-V time with the same or better driver.

I know that our Camaro is faster than a CTS-V RACE CAR so my opinion is a bit biased. :D

:word:
To me my 1 LT was affordable but an SS was not...

Remford 10-12-2010 03:18 AM

Love the MI license plate following an Opel.

For $60B plus whatever it managed to wipe clean through bankruptcy and ducking bondholders, you'd sure as hope GM would at least be able to bolt a supercharger to an LSA and stick it under the hood.

The real question is whether or not Z28 can actually go left or right, and if they've decided to up the interior materials budget from $2.25.
