Loss of low end torque w/ Roto-Fab CAI on 2013 ZL1?

Hello,

Anyone have solution or answers to the above subject matter.

I made this my first performance mod, but I don't feel any increase in HP.

If anything car feels slower on initial launch, w/ less torque??

Your the only one so far ...

The butt-dyno isn't really any way to gauge gains, or losses. i'd take it to the dyno and see what it is making, but without baselines it won't tell you much

:word:

And my butt-dyno thinks the gains are substantial ;)

First drive after the rotofab ---- HUGE gains. Especially low end. I have never had a vehicle with such a "seat of the pants" power increase on a bolt on mod.

What octane fuel are you running? I had the same problem with the roto-fab intake, 91 octane, and no tune.

Sunoco 93 octane. Maybe i need to pull the fuse to reset the ecu?

Don't worry. I didn't feel anything either. I don't believe butt Dyno works in 25HP increments. Times and Dyno will prove your arse wrong though.

I didn't do a stock dyno, so I don't know, with the Rotofab it was 511 1st pull, 515 2nd pull...

That being stated, I knocked over 1/10th a second off of my 1/8th mile time the week after I put it on, I was launching better, so which was it, maybe a bit of both me and the mod

Did you buy the car brand new? If you did and you only put 93 octane in it, you shouldn't need to pull the fuse. I had problems because my motor was detonating. I got her in Chicago where they have 93 octane, but then I shipped her to California (where my duty station is located) and unfortunately Cali only has 91 octane. I installed my roto-fab and and got her on a dyno and was making 505rwhp and only 470rwtrq. At wide open throttle my motor was detonating and I was already at 95% duty cycle. I bought more mods(mods in SIG) and went to Cunningham Motorsports. They inststalled all the parts and got the famous 91 octane street tune by Ryne. She runs better then stock and performs like a beast. I actuallty picked up more mpg on the highway as well:headbang:

:offtopic:
I know California is mentally hilarious, but what is the deal with the 91 octane, have they started banning having fun unless you are a pot head out there?

I'm sorry but with a CAI, I wouldn't imagine that you would experience the additional HP in a significant fashion. I mean you will have a nicer looking and sounding car but as far as the additional 35 or so HP, I wouldn't expect to feel any significant difference. :iono:

What mode are you driving in? The torque management may be kicking in.

I agree, power gains throughout entire range. Least obtrusive mod with the most impact one can do to the LSA IMHO. Very noticeable TQ and HP increase to the trained rear dyno tech..... ;)
