High flow cats pass emissions
Will high flow cats pass an emission tests? The ones I am looking at (Solo) are not CARB certified. I am in WA state but we have the same emission laws as CA.

As far as I've heard, the only ones that will most likely pass are the Kooks Green Cats

I used to have a Magnaflow high flow cat on my old firebird and it passed inspection.. but I believe if there is no CARB sticker it probably won't pass..

No CARB #, no pass.

If ur lucky u might get a lazy tech n just stair at ur camaro the hole time he might nt even look for any E.O numbers cuz ima a smog tech and there r techs out there that don't now what there looking at/for most of the time so ask around smog places n see how old these smog techs , younger techs won't now they'll just get ur car in and out

No aftermarket cats have a carb sticker.

Exactly what everyone said...No Carb #/Sticker, you will not pass!

I didn't see a CARB sticker on my OEM cats either. How would a smog tech know the difference between a hi flow and OEM setup?
|
oem cats = 2 per side. HF cats = 1

I thought as of January there was no more sniffer?...:iono: Just an OBD reading.

Just read the "new" visual inspection criteria...cats must be in original configuration with the same number as OE unless CARB approved. High-flows = no goes!

You should be good for a few years and by then it depends on the place you go but definitely ask around before you go to a random shop. Most shops if busy wont take the time look unless your running Longtubes and no mufflers, to obvious....
|
Can you fail with no mufflers? Do mufflers affect the emissions in any way?
