It will be interesting to see the colors offered and performance options (along w/ its final weight). IMO, I'd take one if they were in high production #'s (means I wouldn't have to sell my house to get one). It's not bad looking. |
It's so nice to see something on a production line which actually gets my blood pumpin'.
Had the Camaro not been given the "green light", I might have considered a Challenger at some point. :bonk: (hitting self) What am I saying?! I would have held onto the SS until the wheels fell off. I can't buy "the competition". :D Now, I only have to think of a place to keep the SS once the 5th Gen. arrives. ;) |
I like how the forums say "oh someone is going to be fired for this", when the truth is the pics were VERY likely released on purpose. those pictures are saying "coming soon to a dealership near you!"

Production Challenger Spy photo
This is the real deal. Hopefully, we'll see similiar pics for our beloved Camaro:

Good thing the Camaro will be better.

"Pricing is expected to start around $31,000, although it's rumored that the R/T models have all been pre-sold in the 50K range."
Don't like the sound of that. JWz28. |

I read on newdodgechallenger.net that Dodge doesn't even plan on making that many. From what I read production numbers are going to be about equal to the '04-'06 GTOs (20-30K per year). Say hello to markups from hell. Let's get a pool going on how much the first one will auction for at Barrett-Jackson. My guess is $200-300K.
|
I guess the good thing about a low production is that you won't see yourself coming and going all the time.
I'm not too knowledgeable about dodge, but I though there was only going to be a V8 challenger, which means they will be R/Ts automatically. Kinda like the Charger with the base V8 is the R/T. :iono: I would also be surprised if they didn't plan on a SRT-8 model in the future as well. |
I was hoping for a better picture - that car is nicely cammo'd :D
Chrysler said all along it will not be produced in great numbers. I'd guess they want to jump into the pool, sell some cars and get out, but we'll see :D |

Where in the world are the spy photos of the camo'd Camaro running on the streets!!! I know...it has a different body and it's running in Austrailia....not fair.
|
I was reading on another forum that that Australian mule is actually just a mule for the shortened Zeta platform itself, not specifically the Camaro. I hate to be the naysayer. But on the other hand it looks like GM is letting the other automakers show their hand first, so the Camaro can make any needed last minute changes to one-up the competition.

I have to agree with you on that one. But I'm sure GM will have some last-minute things up their sleeve depending on what the competition comes out with.
