I suggest painting your rims black

I am definitely considering it, I know it would look good. But so far the nicest example of a CRT car has been one of the ZL1s in the ZL1 CRT thread. So as of now, Im aming to get those rims.

Those night time pics is post 39, did you set the camera on a tripod at long exposure and run behind the car with a flashlight, or was that car headlights passing in the background? Either way, pretty cool.

Exactly, I had it on a tripod, and walked close to the car to paint it with my light (as long as I didnt shine it on my body I didnt show up in the pic). Then a couple times I just ran behind the car in the last couple seconds with the light aimed at the camera.

Used like 25-30 secs of exposure

Its actually vinyl pinstriping, and is holding up great. I have a DIY here: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...18#post4937918 And if you do want to paint them, it wouldnt be too bad, just mask off, scuff/sand then paint the area red that you want. It would be a b*tch to mask off that many curves

I know! I back into my spot at work so I dont have to look at them all day when I look at the window. I will probably paint them black soon, just until I get new exhaust.

Its actually just my stock engine cover that I painted parts of it a deep red, and then I clear coated the red and black parts. The angles from the car show pictures do kinda make it look like a strut brace, but it does give me ideas for a paint scheme when I do get one.

Thanks guys!

Thanks, hope to do more soon when funds permit. I know I want tint soon, and I dont want the car to be quiet anymore either

Heres the interior, the dome light makes it look more tan, but the real color is light beige, closer to white.

Great build!

I need to see about getting those dash inserts... I've got the same interior color but the 2010 dash.

Looks great!

The leather part on the dash? Yeah, Its got stiching around it, like its sewn in there, I dont know if they took a 2010 and added the leather part, but it seems to be recessed a bit as if the redisgned the dash.

I havent seen if anyone has tried to recreate it.

I need to do some research and see if that whole dash piece will retrofit on a 2010. That would probably be the easiest.

I dont see why it wouldnt, nothing else is different (besides the gauges and steering wheel obviously). Just could be expensive. Also, a few people were complaining about the leather part bubbling/coming loose a lil where it has to turn downward under the airvents. But I havent had it happen.

I havent painted the door and dash panels red/maroon yet because I want to paint them from the inside, like factory. And I want to get a test piece first, probably the little dash piece to the left, and see if it looks good after removing the original gold color
