okay,
I like to take care of my own car as much as I can- so I'm underneath performing an oil change and see this.... but I don't know a ton about whats going on- gasket between oil-pan and block?? there was residue all over the pan- had cleaned off the bottom already. My garage floor is clean, so there have been no "drips" Is it a problem; if so how severe? Thanks guys, -Justin |
There are two causes common with the LS3:
Block porosity - causes leak where pan seals to block Rear main seal GM is well aware of them, and there are TSB's on both. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showpo...31&postcount=8 |

this isn't where my oil is coming from (very possible for the final pick where it the Trans is mounting up to the engine) but not for the leak up at the pan... thanks for the tsb list. any idea where I can find those with the noted "images"? shop wants the car ASAP tomorrow- no such documented leaks at this area yet he says...just at the rear case and the oil cooler. ugh. could be just a faulty gasket or a larger issue he says.
