Arh full system with there mufflers?or borla

Getting ready to do my first mods trying to decide between arh full system with mufflers or getting arh system to the axle and adding borla axle back s-type.I also plan on changing cam and having the car tuned. Also this is great forum been hanging around for while finally decided to post.

It'll be louder with the Borla if that's what you want to know.

Wondering about drone and how loud? The arh is a 3" verses the borla 2.5" I thought the arh would be louder?

Forgive me if I'm mistaken, but I could've sworn the ARH was a 2.5 as well. I doubt either will give you that much or any drone.

In terms of decibels, to me I think they are equally loud but the Borla S has more bass then the ARH axleback.

If you dont want drone, go w/ ARH.

Synner 03-30-2012 07:39 PM

Arh has no drone and mellow.with normal rpm. SLP will be louder.

If the Borla S-type is louder than the ARH, then wow the ARH must be close to GMPP exhaust. The S-type without headers is definitely louder than stock, but I wouldn't call it "loud". The ATAK is what I would consider loud.

Put a set of LT headers on and it gets loud when you get on it, but a nice rumble when cruising.

Sad to say, Borla S-type does have drone at about 75 MPH, and with headers it starts at 70 MPH. That's my experience with Kooks stepped LTs/cats and Borla.

I have the full ARH exhaust. Waiting to get home to put it on. It's pretty loud with LT's and a cam I'm sure.

Can anyone verify the tubing size of the ARH system? I could've sworn it was 2.5" as well.

Synner 04-10-2012 01:15 PM

3" until the axle, then it goes to 2.5" which is why its drone free but still flows great.

Ah, thank you sir.

I have ARH long tube with cats and the borla s type cat back. It wasn't bad at all when that was all I had, but once I installed my cam...the drone is horrible. Will be taking it to SOLO soon to have them install their j-pipes on my borla system...

Blackkaz04 04-11-2012 01:24 AM

agreed...I have full ARH with borla....WAY TOO MUCH DRONE!
