These full length strips look terrible, they need to match the 69. The prices for these cars are going to be out of reach for the average american. Still, overall it looks really sharp! Can hardly wait for the Z-28 vert!!!!

An extra 2k for the RPO Z4Z pace car package was hardly out of reach last year, especially if it helps hold re-sale value.

Cool, but for goodness sake, stop with the Mustang stripes Chevrolet. We have our own style, and they don't copy ours.

I agree. Those are Shelby stripes. I would have liked to see full length rally stripes. And where's the houndstooth?

shawn18 01-22-2011 08:19 PM

I cant believe the Hendrick car sold for more. Its a good thing I didnt have the money for that or you would see me in Indy in a few months!!

ketel0ne 01-22-2011 08:23 PM

1st of 50 made.

fisherssmoke 01-22-2011 09:36 PM

2 more to match Corvette's 5 consecutive years at Indy, looking forward to May

WS6ADDICT 01-22-2011 09:43 PM

Supplier of the vert tops shoulda spit out 4,000 ORANGE tops, then GM shoulda put orange houndstooth in it & sent 1 to every dealer. Instant collectible.
Would be a whole lot better lookin than the 2002 collector Trans Am I've got stuffed away. ( If I wanted black wheels on it, I woulda PUT black wheels on it!!) (lol)

Dont know all I know is it went for 225k, & the mustang Boss 302 went for 450k (something like that)

CamaroSkooter 01-22-2011 11:10 PM

Yeah, it was the first of 50 Indy Parade cars (or whatever they're called) and there will be 500 total Indy Pace Car replicas

Do the 50 parade cars count towards the 500?

And do they all come with yellow tail lights?

The idea all along was to do last years car (orange coupe) and this years car as a set, a kinda his and hers deal.

We all really liked the idea of having the stripes come off of the hood and onto the IP (something never done before on a production car), to make this work, they needed to move in board from the expected historic Camaro location (The Driver side stripe is cropped as it is by the gauges).....plus we were able to fit the mail slot into the entire stripe width, verse having it half in/half out.....like what happens when u extend the rally stripes on a V8. Many iterations were shown to management, it came down to what u see here today, and just having the same stripe start from the upper fascia and end at the deck lid cut line. In the end, leadership felt that our Camaro's design was so strong, that there was no reason to tip toe around Mustang & Charger......plus many people were already making their own versions of the stock Rally stripes in orange and putting them on white coupes.

After the Auction today....only 499 left.......

Yep... that was it... as long as you could find a dealer without the dreaded market adjustment..;)
