1968 Nickey Camaro hood???

I owned an original 1968 Nickey Camaro 427 in 1969. It came with a fiberglass hood. I am currently building a clone, and need the correct fiberglass hood for the car. The hood originally on the car had two openings in the front of the hood with two openings in the rear of the hood....the rear openings had wire mesh. The hood was very similar to a SS hood, but said nickey in aluminum script on the side of the hood. It was unlike any hoods I have seen for sale, but is still shown online for Dana Chevrolet Camaros. Any ideas on where I can locate one of these hoods??

Not to take away from this forum, but you could get this answer over at http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/ or maybe www.camaros.net

I have a 1967 with the baldwin motion (L88 style hood) and I also had the stinger hood for my 67 as well.

Good luck.

This is a very interesting conversation for a 5th Generation Camaro forum, but I am all for it :chevy:

The Hood you speak of is very unique and was used on both Nickey as well as Dana Chevrolet Super Camaros.

We use new remakes of original Nickey script emblems on our new Super Camaros, just like your 1968 had.

Do you have any pics of your '68 Nickey Camaro?
