2013 2LS vs. 1995 Corvette

1/4 mile just curious if this would be close at all

v6 2ls mods: CAI intake, throttle body, and axle back

corvette is stock LT1.

Corvette will probably have you, but not by much, probably less than a second. Given that the driving skill is equal.

Ive personally seen LT1 F-bodys run high 13's many many manyyyy times in stock to stock'ish form, as in NO engine mods, only intake/exhaust and they're slightly heavier then a C4 LT1 vette.

The vette will have you no doubt what so ever...unless he cant drive or roasts the tires away...but either way he will reel you in an MPH you on the big end NO problem.

Honestly...save your gas.

Not by much? Define what's not a lot to you?

Just as an example, assuming both cars leave the line at the exact same time...if the vette runs 13.5 and the 2LS runs a 14.5, thats exactly 10 car lengths at the end of the 1/4.

Thats a slaughter...hardly a close race at all...honestly.

Dvill23 06-25-2014 02:02 PM

my best time has been 14.0 flat back in may, but makes sense he will beat me unless he roasts the tires, which im sure he will lol

c5z28 06-25-2014 06:26 PM

he will get you pretty good...
When my 90 corvette was stock I got a ton of crap from v6 camaro owners
That was until we all went to the track and I ran a 13.7 which is what the SS owners were running that night. They shut up after that, and so did the ss owners when I put in the 383.
Those cars can squat and hook so be careful

Vette wins easy... I drive both cars daily

The 1995 Corvette with LT1 was a high 13 second car if driven well. But you already said you've ran a 14 flat with your mods.

The Corvette has the advantage, but hell....maybe you'll get the better launch and squeak out a win! Go for it! :) It could make for a fun race.

If it isn't stock, you lose though.

I used to race with a stock C4 Corvette in Richmond at Virginia Motorsports Park. The only thing the owner did was change the rear tires at the track. He bought it from some guy named Reeves Callaway.

You mean THE REEVES CALLAWAY? The guy that builds the hot Callaway Corvettes and Camaros (among others)? Yeah, doubt that car was stock.

No way that's stock haha, good points of view from everyone. Should be interesting because my friend as never hit the track & maybe I'll get the better launch!

He later confessed that it had a K&N airfilter on it.:smiling1:

The car went from Bowling Green, Ky to his shop and then to a Chevrolet dealership where it was sold so other than the tires and K&N it was raced as bought off of the showroom floor.

I have a friend with a V6 Camaro with a few bolt-on's. If I were going to be racing at the track against a Corvette I would add a small shot of nitrous and some dragradials at the minimum. The people that usually race Corvettes at the track aren't stock from what I've seen.

Okay, the owner may have only replaced the air filter, but Callaway modified that car for the dealership. Here what a stock LT-1 Corvette engine bay looks like.

Notice the intercoolers added to the Callaway version?

Callaway makes some Bada$$ cars, but they aren't factory stock. The last C4 Callaway did for Chevrolet was in 1991.
