Indo - that blue is stunning. Is that original color ? What tire size and offset are you running ? That is THE stance I'm looking for. Any idea the weight penalty for that wheel/tire combo ? I've seen posts saying stock 20" is about 65-70 lbs.

Yes, it is ABM. Tires are 265/30/22 and 295/25/22 Do not know my offset.

There is non, wheels weigh the same as stock, 28lbs front and 32lbs rear. But, it comes at a price. Light weight and larger are not cheap.

whats the labor charge to get this done or can you do it yourself?

Blownhotrodder 11-06-2009 06:19 PM

Springs are pretty easy to install yourself if your careful.

Can anyone give me a logical or even practical reason to lower your car? Anyone?

Because it looks a thousand times better! Nothing like a car that looks like a 4x4:barf:

plus there's this little added benefit called better handling.

Other than those two pointless reasons there is no need to lower you car. :respekt:

if your really serious, which i doubt, there are 2 reasons, handling & appearance. if you dont like it then you can go to the 4+4 camaro thread!!!!

Well beauty is in the eye of the beholder. :chevy:

So by 4 x 4 you are referring to cars that are of normal height?

And having your tires just millimeters from the housing gives you better handling?

I guess I don't get it but then again I really don't care.

I also would like to know why certain groups of people wear their pants down below their ass? ;)

Really tradosaurus???? The 5th gen camaro is way way way too high from the factory. Seriously they look like a 4x4. Even a mild 1" drop makes the car look like a sports car

MTI lowering springs and sways.. handling is way improved and the ride is very close to stock.. no body roll is pretty sweet! ha

Well I can still see some space between the tire and the wheel well. This isn't a 4 x 4 thread you know. :sm0:

Seriously it looks good. How much on average to lower a Camaro?

ron8879 11-07-2009 08:51 PM

to each their own guys....i personally like the look of the lowered camaro, but I also like not having to worry about messing up the front end on speedbumps and parking blocks...so ill leave mine alone. Now if this was just a playtoy car....i more than likely would drop it an inch to and inch & an half, but its a daily driver for me. ;-)

1BadaSS 11-07-2009 09:18 PM

dropping the car 1 inch wont make driving over speed bumps and stuff any different. Now those with ground effects might have to watch it a bit more. I'm going with H&R's as it provides the best stance IMO. Every car I've ever owned has been lowered so I'm used to driving cars like this.

Gibby 11-07-2009 09:35 PM

These cars look nice. Lowered any more than that, and it looks broken.

Ya, why do those people wear their pants half way, or more, down their ass? There should be a fix for that!
