Great to see you had a good time, did GM give you guys some good seats to watch the race? When they did this for us at Daytona all hundred of us got $350 seats to watch the race and race fan passes to the garages.
|
Awesome man! Looks like you had a lot of fun also.

As an update to and earlier post, I heard back from the Dealership regarding the (heated) email I sent them about my car being listed on their website... here's the reply: "...We by no means run any BAIT AND SWITCH here. Our system is set up to list all of our inventory on our website as soon as they hit our system. We go in and remove sold units as soon as we realize they hit the website. You Camaro is not for sale and that is why we have disclaimer on the website for when mistakes are made. The same thing happens to all of our ZR1 orders as well." |

Well I'm a forum member that was there too!;) It was nice to meet you Richard.
There are 25 Camaro Festival cars and 3 Pace Cars. There are some more photos here: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...t=14348&page=5 As for the speed limit, prior to our (CICC) IndY2K event in 2000 it had been a number of years since a club event had been allowed to take place inside the Speedway grounds. Years before it seems that at a Viper club event they had gotten a little carried away and a Viper club member spun his car wiping it out crashing into the inside wall. The Speedway was NOT HAPPY!!!!:mad0260: So any event since is highly regulated. Anyone who does much more than chirp their tires are immediately ejected and banned forever. For our track lap at IndY2K and for the Indy'08 F-Body event they even had Speedway Police officers with RADAR out on the track. Only one person at each event managed to get themselves ejected. As for the poster above, that is exactly why the Speedway is reluctant to do these kinds of things. It is a HUGE priviledge to be allowed on the track that should not be taken lightly. EDIT: I should add that the Speedway was even more unhappy when the guy crashing his Viper made the local TV news and the newspaper. The guy that got thrown out of the Indy'08 event stopped on the yard of bricks, did a big burn out, and was caught on RADAR at 80MPH by the officer in turn one. We were eventually able to convince the Speedway Police NOT to impound his car. |
^^ he was driving right next to me in the 67 pace car
|
sick dude
|
I wish I'd known this was happening, I would have driven over from Cincy to see this parade.
I'm jealous Richard. A Black SS and you met Danica. That's almost like winning the lottery. BTW, there is a drive the track event in November @ KY Speedway. I think they let you get up to 55 or 65. |
I was at the rear of the Camaros. All the Vetts following. :chevy:

MLL....thanks for being there. Your '67 confirmed for me that waiting for the Summit White and applying an aftermarket blue striping package will look out of this world.
Thanks for letting an old guy see the photos of your ride. |
