PEDDERS SUCCESSFULLY FITS 305s ON ALL 4 CORNERS!

PEDDERS SUCCESSFULLY FITS 305s ON ALL 4 CORNERS!

Pedders has been talking since day one about the gross understeer the Camaro has when pushed hard. It is not just the opinion of us, but of a lot of very talented shops and drivers.

One of the goals Pedders has had is to get a VERY LARGE but equal tire on all 4 corners. I am pleased to announce we have success. We are able to get a 305/30ZR19 on all 4 corners. A 20 inch version in 1 inch in diameter larger. What is critical is the 305!

We will not give out any info on this tire/wheel package until we display it at:
Berger Chevrolet
2525 28th Street SE
Grand Rapids, MI, 49512
http://www.bergerchevrolet.com/

Those of you with manuals, have you noticed the lag in torque you have? this in part is the result of your 20 inch tires. With a 1 inch diameter difference, there is over 3 inches difference in circumference. This may not seem like much, but it really is. The 19 inch wheel will have less stress on the power train and will make the trans feel smoother. Handling is what we are going after.

thanks

Pete will be mad at me, but Pete's Camaro will be prepped to out-perform a Z06 on a actual track, which will probably be Gingerman. That will not be hard to do. But we will push the envelop to eat a ZR1. Cannot talk about what we are going to do, but we are not at the point with our testing tht we think we can do it. We have already been able to get Pete's G8 within a 1/2 second off of qualifying time for a GTR Vette with street tires. So now we are hungry!

How are you dealing with the speedometer? Are you able to recalibrate it for the new wheel size?

Mike in about a year, I will be in contact with you. I want you to work on my car. :D
I want my car to be a track beast and will be going out to laguna seca as often as I can.

Sorry to ask again but... No rubbing under extreme cornering? With Race tires? Was the rim 19x10?

We will be setting up the Pedders Camaro to out perform a Z06 Vette on an open road coarse. We have already been able to do this with our Pedders G8. Our test at the New Jersey track this year proved we could. Pete's G8 was 1/2 second slower than a GTR Vette qualifying time and Pete's car had performance street tires only. With racing tires, we would have been able to better the time by quite a bit.

Our goal will be able to exceed the ZR1. We have 2 different engine power plants in mind; one with a 600hp at the rear, and the other is a 700hp normally aspirated engine. Plus of coarse brakes will be upgraded, along with our Pedders magic

I an tell you there was no rub under extreme conditions with the 305 combo that we had. They were not 19X10s. Not sure yet if I can publish this data before the Berger event.

Also, offsets are critical which we will probably not publish
