I like the new color. Put a blower on top and it's good to go.

Not crazy about the look of that hood heat extractor, looks too small. The parts in the car are awesome. To bad you couldn't get it with the 13 body style

gramps_green_rs 03-28-2013 08:52 PM

 I like it.

LOVE it!! They couldn't have picked a better color for the reveal, sooooo sexy!!

FitterMike 03-28-2013 09:57 PM

My only complaint is the no stereo option or one speaker how ever they want to market it. I like to cruise with music on the street. I know it's suppose to be a track car. But zero tracks in Calgary.

Hylton 03-28-2013 10:36 PM

If GMOC is going to price it, get the soap ready.....

stratman2SSRS 03-29-2013 12:31 AM

Not diggin' the stick on fender flares.
Otherwise looking good to me.

You're making a pretty big assumption............that we'll even be able to get one here in Canada.

Most likely it will be like the ZL1's, only a handful stay here in Canada. Of course if your not opposed to buying a used ZL1, the dealers have a number of "US Cars" available here in the GTA....selling for their original sticker price:mad0259: WTFE!

Apparently there is talk of special RPO (CUSTRAPEKT) on the Z/28. Anyone thinking of purchasing a Z/28 would be well advised to consider adding this to their order.

In negotiations with the Nurse maybe need to head Royal Chev place a deposit

ron10 03-29-2013 09:25 AM

love the car.hope it is in my price range.

mhoskins76 03-29-2013 09:34 AM

I think it is a great car. However for a daily driver it won't be worth it IMO. It is definitely a track car, but the ZL1/2SS will be much better for the daily driver.

And those brakes are going to be very expensive to get fixed/repaired when the time comes.

Apparently, the Z/28 is going to be priced over the ZL1!

If they crew up the 6th Gen, let's get ready to kiss the Camaro good-bye....FOREVER! This is MY OPINION! (everyone is entitled, even if you don't agree).

I don't mind the screw ups, it makes my "early production" more valuable, as time goes by.

Well Frank they had to get the Zed built before the end of the 5th Gen. They had already laid the ground work for the drive train with the ZL1, HP will be comparable so they know it will handle it. Had a bunch of LS7 that weren't going to get used in the Vette's anyway.

Spend a little on a redesign rear and front cones, plastic fender flares, cut a hole in the hood and place a heat extractor. It will be a limited run anyway and if the price comes in above the ZL1, that will be a good thing.

Just my 5 cents worth, don't dislike it, just not sure that it is deserving of the Z/28 moniker.

camaro99 03-29-2013 01:49 PM

While I like most of the MODS done to this (SS)/Z28 , I believe that the design model of 1st or 2nd gen Z28, especially my fav 81 model, would have provided me a lot more drooling.

However I may just have to trade up for the new Zed later this year and add all the missing details of my SSlike a radio .....maybe!:bonk::laugh:

OUR72GTO 03-29-2013 03:58 PM

Disappointed it leans so much on the track side....too harsh and too expensive for even a weekend car. These are going to be garage queens. That was not the case in Gen 1 of ZEDS.

My thoughts exactly.

SQUALO 04-02-2013 03:24 PM

I think availability, up here GTA/Canada, is going to be near to impossible to get one.
I guess that's expected with, what will probably be, a very limited production car.
I think production is going to be more limited than the ZL1.

Good Luck to all you who want one.

Only GM has the last say with that.

v8 04-02-2013 09:59 PM

Isn't that sickening Matt? I've heard about the used ZL1's in the GTA and can't believe the price they're asking!

Davenport in Calgary has one on order, but...they had a ZL1 on order as well and never ended up getting the one they ordered. One came into a dealer that the deal fell through on and they managed to snag it.

GM BULLETIN:

2014 Camaro Z/28 the Most Track-capable Camaro Ever
Chevrolet last week, introduced the restyled 2014 Camaro line at the New York Auto Show, including the
return of the Z/28, the most iconic model in Camaro history.
The 2014 Camaro models feature a revised exterior design that integrates high-performance
aerodynamics for more efficient cooling and stability at high speeds. The new Camaro Z/28 also features a
full aerodynamics package that creates downforce at speed, which helps make it most track-capable
offering in Camaro’s history.
The first Camaro Z/28 was introduced in 1967, created to
compete in the Sports Car Club of America’s Trans-Am 2 class.
It featured a smaller, lighter, 302-cubic-inch V-8 for improved
weight balance, as well as quick-ratio steering and a heavyduty
suspension for track use. In keeping with its road-racing
focus, the 1967 Camaro Z/28 was not available with an
automatic transmission or air conditioning.
While the new Camaro Z/28 is not intended to compete in
a specific race series, it is solely focused on track capability. In initial testing, the Camaro Z/28 is three
seconds faster per lap than the Camaro ZL1. :thumb:That extra speed comes from three areas:
Increased grip: The Z/28 is capable of 1.05 g in cornering acceleration, due to comprehensive chassis revisions
Increased stopping power: the Z/28 features Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes capable of 1.5 g in
deceleration, and consistent brake feel, lap after lap
Reduced curb weight: The naturally aspirated Z/28 weighs 300 pounds less than the supercharged
Camaro ZL1, with changes ranging from lightweight wheels to thinner rear-window glass.
The new 2014 Camaro line will arrive at Chevrolet dealers later in 2013. The Camaro Z/28 is expected to
be appearing at track events across the United States in spring 2014.

Hmmmm....do they come in two tone 77 Rally sport......green and black!:hail:

christcringle 04-03-2013 05:36 PM

For me it's 50/50 but for Sue no way she sais:twitch: but let me work on the promotion of the Z28:bonk:

DGthe3 04-03-2013 09:52 PM

I really want one, but I don't see how it will be possible for me to justify buying one. Its not suitable as a daily driver, and I'm not going to spend 70k+ (I'm guessing) on a car I can only take out a few times a year. But I like everything about the car, and I applaud GM for growing a pair & deciding to build a car that is simply 110% badass, designed to do one thing & do it awesomely; rather than watering it down, slapping a badge on it, and calling it a day.

Absolutely spot on .

I'm in no position to afford one, but I'd LOVE to have one. I would want/make the "sacrifice" for A/C and I'd probably add a couple extra speakers to the radio so it has a stereo, but otherwise? It's a Z06 in Camaro skin, and can bring my wife and kid along for the ride :w00t:.

Rockhead 04-11-2013 11:18 AM

I'm in love with it. I don't have the radio on when I drive very often . The Voices in my head are usually singing to me. I don't drive my SS everyday either so that's not a real issue.

BUMBLE-B-TUNA 04-18-2013 04:39 PM

I like the fact that they came out with the car but its just not for me. I'm sure that some lucky bast**ds will enjoy the hell out of it though😎
