Why is the new camaro so expensive here? (UAE)
I just moved to Dubai and I was wondering if people are raising the price because they are "new"? I can build a 2010 Camaro SS with all the options I want for around $35-37k USD, given the exchange rate that's somewhere around 130-135k dirhams....I've seen several people on dubizzle asking 170-200k?? and some of those are used....
If I order one from camaroarabia.com will it be delivered for around the MSRP? How long should I expect to wait? |
its not only in UAE even in kuwait the price is too high V6 is priced the same as V8 in USA,
|
its 180+/- a couple thousand from the dealer... and they only have one spec
i got a 2ss/rs manual with no gfx/polished 20" wheels/no onstar for 178K AED |
oh yeah.. good luck getting one of the showroom floor. expect to wait till the next shipment comes in and you only get to choose the colors that are available.
They wont let you custom build it and the only colour combinations are what the dealers ordered so check all teh dealers and see what price/colors fits you best. You have liberty in Sharjah, al Ghandi in Dubai and Bin Humoodah in AD |
Thanks for the replies guys, as much as I love the 5th gen Camaro I don't think I'm willing to pay 40k dirhams more than what it's worth...maybe in a year or so...

Well same problem here in Oman, all the specs are up side down.
LT for 14K rials, and SS for 18.5K rials. The same ship arrives to Saudia first then to Oman, then UAE, and last stop is Kuwait. I'm shipping all my accessories from USA directly. The aftermarket here is POOR !! |
Same here in saudi arabia it cost 175-185k
|
1- Reintroduction of a popular sports car
2- Limited quantity production 3- Legend in the making 4- Shipping costs 5- Dealer Greed 6- Customers unfortunately willing to pay |
