If I read correctly both the 10-11 and 12+ models require use of the pfadt front end links for this kit?

That is correct. The ZL1 is the only vehicle that does not require new front end links.

SS with stock ZL1 end links work?

Obviously the Pfadts are more beefy but just trying to explore options.

I don't see why not. We have never tested it, but unless there is a difference on the strut side on the ZL1 vs the SS that I am not aware of, they should bolt right up.
