What kinda' beast is a Liberty tranny?

My manual transmission has been down for a lengthy time as a result of a failed input shaft bearing. Yeah, I know that plenty of you fellows have suffered the same failure. Getting the damn thing back up and running has been tedious, no parts from GM, warranty refusals, machined parts to fit are super hard to make...

What I would like to know is whether dumping the Tremec 6060 might be a good idea. Is going to a full out, straight cut gear Liberty to handle the torque over 650 rwhp the better choice in the long run for a 10 second car.

Have any of you driven a Liberty equipt car as a dd? How much of a beast is it? I'm willing to learn how to handle temperamental vehicles up to the point
where it feels badass, but not scarily dangerous to everyone else on the road.

I have a faceplated liberty t56 in my gt 4780 powered mustang...

Not something you would want to use everday.. Not that you could not do it, just kind of a pain in the ass.. Gets the wrong kind of attention everywhere you go.. Pretty noisey.
