2011 Camaro Convertible Spotted Top Down! Release Schedule. Debut @ 2010 LA Autoshow!

Reported on CAMARO5 HOMEPAGE.

We bring you the very first photos of the 2011 Camaro SS Convertible in final preproduction form testing with its top down, and not only does she look virtually finished, but she's gorgeous! A couple of apparent design differences to the Camaro SS coupe is the trunk spoiler shape and the presence of the sharkfin antenna on the trunk.

This inferno orange metallic Camaro SS Convertible was spotted running the back roads with a 2010 Mustang GT Convertible, for comparison. The drivers were seen actively comparing the two cars and providing direct feedback in comparing the two car.

i like it, the first thing i noticed, no keyhole next to the 'bow tie' or anywhere on the panel between the tail lights, i wonder if the did it in the license plate bulb area ala the C6 corvette?

Andro 07-26-2010 10:11 AM

Not my cup of coffee

thecamaroguy 07-26-2010 10:11 AM

Spoiler different as well.

csjcsj 07-26-2010 10:11 AM

Dont care for the shark fin on the trunk though. Needs some rethinking on that.

GlowingBurrito 07-26-2010 10:12 AM

Lookin good!

Dr Jkel 07-26-2010 10:12 AM

Bet this car will be awesome in Summit white and black interior

RB43TD 07-26-2010 10:14 AM

I like it. Top on/Top off, the Camaro is just gorgeous.

Leolee 07-26-2010 10:14 AM

looks pretty good to me, even tho the vert i would get is a hardtop but too heavy for this car

fireresq157 07-26-2010 10:17 AM

nice

shroomjohn 07-26-2010 10:17 AM

Wont they just put a cb antenna on that trunk too theres still some space left :sm0:

TheCaptain 07-26-2010 10:18 AM

That car looks awesome! No big fm antenna hanging off of it, new tail... :D I like it.

2010SLVRBULIT 07-26-2010 10:18 AM

There is no trunk key hole on the Camaro.

I dig the convertible, hope they will offer it in true hugger orange. Then I'll buy one.

Agreed

5th_GEN_SS 07-26-2010 10:24 AM

soo when can you order one?

guiLT 07-26-2010 10:25 AM

I like it. But it looks kinda long with the top down...

MIT'13 07-26-2010 10:26 AM

I really like it! In general I'm not really a converible guy, but I have to say, they made this one work well.

Me too- I was also wondering what he's talking about ?

I like convertibles but not so much on this Camaro. If GM comes out with a true hardtop- (sans the B pillar) I'll buy a new one.

TLSTWIN 07-26-2010 10:31 AM

Imagine that.....same company that spotted the "Z28 SC" car........and the mention of a convertible GT Mustang....now where did we see that car??....oh ya in the Z28 sighting.........but of course there is no truth to any of these "rumors".....sarcasm:wub:.......I am being sarcastic.........connect the dots people....:chevy:

BTW, is that Al O. in the passenger seat?

PHEOX 07-26-2010 10:34 AM

I think they have done great for this convertible! It could have been really good, or just terrible, and I think it's really good.

mrcowboy 07-26-2010 10:42 AM

I'd like to order one as well....c'mon dealers!

tommyn2 07-26-2010 10:45 AM

nice but convertables just arent my cup of tea.

Good luck to those ordering! hope to see some on the roads soon

JoeP@TeamBeckyD 07-26-2010 10:46 AM

Another winner!!

elcamino85 07-26-2010 10:49 AM

Im no convertible fan but I guess this looks pretty good. Ill wait till the L.A. auto show to see it in person.

Blackhawk6 07-26-2010 10:50 AM

Is that Al I see in the passenger's seat?

2001ragtop 07-26-2010 10:52 AM

Agreed...I am not a huge fan of convertables...but this looks really nice. I also think it will look GREAT in Summit White with black interior!:w00t:

eggydoo 07-26-2010 10:58 AM

never been a fan of convertibles with 4 seats.

WadeWilson 07-26-2010 11:00 AM

No thanks.

EuroCamaro 07-26-2010 11:04 AM

I hope that is not a finished version? without a hard tonneau cover it looks cheap:thumbdown:

Modern dropheads have an electric cover to hide the roof when it is down

KILLER74Z28 07-26-2010 11:08 AM

WOW, very nice... Looks like GM has really done a outstanding job on the vert as well.

I believe that was just a pre-production part and the production car won't have a keyhole.

Steeler NY 07-26-2010 11:28 AM

Looks Great!!!! :thumbup:Still don't like center light and antenna but I guess I will have to deal with that! When can we get pricing and start ordering?

Well they gotta put it somewhere :iono:

toesuf94 07-26-2010 11:31 AM

Gimmie! White car, Orange stripes, IO interior. 2SS/RS. White top. OR Z28 same colors. YES!

irocnroll 07-26-2010 11:35 AM

Beautiful. This will be my car when I get a promotion.

SS-Eric 07-26-2010 11:36 AM

I cant wait for my White 2SS/RS w/ IOM interior and stripes to come in... I also am not a fan of the shark fin on the trunk lid... they could put it on the front windshield like the 'Vette and make the car look clean.
I doubt you will see the 'Vert before spring next year though... It doesnt make much sence to bring out a 'vert just in time for winter... all the info I've got, is that we'll start ordering in Oct for early 2011 production and arriving just in time for Spring. Just like the coupe.

JusticePete 07-26-2010 11:37 AM

OK who wants to buy the Pedders USA Camaro because I want a convertible? I am thinking we cage it for track use and clone the rest of it to the same specs as the PUSA current Camaro.
