Aftermarket Hurst shifter question

Ok, I have had the hurst shifter installed for about a year and half or so +/- 6000 miles. I don't remember how much play the shifter had while in gear when it was new but now the ball moves about 1" when in gear. Is it normal?

Hmmm, well I decided to go with the GM Hurst shifter. It replaces the entire shifter unlike the aftermarket does. I am having it installed this week. Not as short of throw as the aftermarket Hurst but I have heard it is smooth as glass when shifting. Just in case you are looking for another option. I can't wait to get it in. :)

if I take mine out, I am getting an MGW.

Wow you may have had it installed badly, I have it for 2 years now and it dos not move in gear more then 1/8" or less, Are the bolts loose?

And in the 2 years i have over 56k miles.

its tight. it doesnt move at all forward and back, just side to side. it functions fine. never miss a shift and its been like that for 15000 miles since I installed it in 2009.

I will check but I am pretty sure they are fine. I checked them before. Like I said, its been that way since day 1. I am not the only one also. A friend of mine's is loose too.
