Ray Huffines
 

Hi everyone!

Newbie here, and first time posting. This is a very helpful sight.
I wanted to know if anyone has ordered their camaro from Ray Huffines in Plano. After e-mailing several dealers in the area, it became apparant that they were all quoting MSRP, so it made since to order from a dealer near where I live. First of all, I have been dealing with the Fleet manager and he promised to only charge me List. However he could not but anything in writing because he said that the pricing might change, which made me nervous at the time. This was before the small price increase recently, so I suspect he knew about this. He told me that he did not think it would change more than $500.00 or so. Now I have been trying to get at least a guestimate from him on when my order will be placed. He tells me that he is waiting on his next allotment and that there are 2 orders from the first allotment that has to be filled first. I asked him when he expected to receive the second allotment, and he said he did not know, that it was up to GM. I would think that he would have some inkly as to when that might be. I am a little nervous about this whole purchase from them. It seems that the attitude I receive from them, is that I am being a pest to them. I do not want to have any surprises, and I would like to have my camaro by August, since my current lease is up at that time. Any feedback from you guys would be great, and I would like to hear about your experience from buying from this dealership.

I would run straight to Reliable in Richardson off of Beltline and 75. Talk to Brian Prosser, he is good and straightforward and he is not bothered by someone asking a bunch of questions when they are buying a 35Kish car they have never seen...

If he still talks to me daily he will surely be fine with you "bothering" him.

Or you might call Mike Carnes at Classic Chevy in Grapevine....He is also a great guy to deal with.

Just recommended Richardson because Grapevine is a long way from this area.

Grapevine is a little bit of a drive for me too but i've heard great things about Classic Chevy from tons of people.

I think you should definately find another dealer....getting the price in MSRP is important....

What number are you at Reliable? Thats where I ordered from and I also live in Allen.

I just ordered last month, so I do not know where I stand in the pecking order yet. Let me clarify that I i was in no way attempting to cast a negative light on Ray Huffines, but since this is the first time I have special ordered a vehicle, the process is very confusing to me. I suppose with the Camaro being such a hot item at this time, obtaining reliable informtion, is difficult for not only us, but the dealers also. I did some very detailed research on local dealers and Ray Huffines received very high marks for customer satisfaction. That is why I chose them over the many other dealers in the DFW area. I suppose that I am being overly anxious like everyone else at this point, and I will be provided updated information when it becomes available. I should not jump to conclusions at this point, since it is apparant that every one is in the same situation. Coop, you and myself, and any others that ordered from here are in good hands I am sure.

I was number 10, but theoretically got moved to 7 because some people cancelled their pre-order. I am at 3300 in the process as of 4/21


When did you order? Are you dealing with Brian? I was with Heide who came there from Huffines then got let go from Reliable, Brian took over all of her stuff. She was very interesting to deal with.

I just ordered on 3/28, so not that long ago. They are supposed to be receiving their second allotment soon, so people better get in line as soon as possible.
I have been dealing with the fleet manager Jay. He is the camaro expert there. If you need any help with anything, he can certainly help you also. What did you order?
I am getting a 2SS Auto IOM beauty with a sunroof.

I ordered a 2SS/RS Auto Black on Black no sunroof.

I pre-ordered in October on the 14th (second day they were taking orders.)

I ordered on October 13. I am number 3 and I am dealing with Todd Porter. There is a yellow SS ahead of me so it should be soon.

I ordered a 2SS/RS IOM.

I placed my order 10/15/08. I originally started out as allocation #32.....but i'm not sure if I moved up or down based on constraints/cancelled orders.

I moved to event code 2000 a couple of days ago so things are moving right along!
