Active shooter(s) in LAX.
 
Breaking on the news right now.

Official info from news conference below.

At 9:20am individual entered terminal 3 with an assault rifle. Proceeded to TSA checkpoint, shot it up, and continued into the secured area. Responding officers had a gunfight with the shooter in the secure area and took him into custody. 7 victims treated at the scene, 6 of them transported to hospital.

They are reporting one TSA agent dead and another wounded.

Looks like it was on both sides. They interviewed a guy that said it started just before the check point and they showed photos of bloody clothing and a weapon on the ground and it looked like it was actually at a gate.

With the way TSA treat the general public on a daily basis, this was bound to happen sooner or later.

I've seen some rumors that it may have been an off-duty TSA agent as well that would pin this as an workplace violence issue, instead of a citizen that just finally snapped.

They just asked that question at the news conference and the police chief said they did not know if the suspect was a TSA agent or not.

Guess we'll just have to wait and see how it all plays out and what is brought to light. Seems like a premeditated and target specific thing thus far.
