Please help. Rattling/flapping noise from back

I'm at about 67k and this morning a rattling or flapping noise started coming from the back. It only happens when in gear and moving. If I push the clutch in while moving it goes away. It SOUNDS like its coming from the back, but sounds can be funny. Anybody have any clue what this could be?

Doubt it. The thrist washer has a distinct sound that only happens at the moment load is applied. Not while load stays on it.

Plus could NEVER be described as a flapping sound.

It's more like to empty beer bottles being hit together.

Anyone know if I take it to the dealer if whatever it is could POSSIBLY be covered by the 100K powertrain warranty...Even with the mods I have?

Only way it wouldn't be covered is if they determine (and prove) that one of your mods is what caused the issue.

Yup.

If it's a suspension item then you're gonna be fine. If nothing else they can tell you what it is and then you can fix it yourself.

Any way to get it on audio and post it?

Hello Devryn,

I recommend you take your vehicle in for a diagnosis of this issue. This way you have a better idea of what's going on and can decide on getting serviced by that dealer or not. Also, they can give you clarity on if this will be covered by the powertrain warranty as certified diagnosis is required. The warranty will only become void if the issue is found to be a result of the modifications to your car.
