SS Pricing

I know this has been beaten into the ground but I need to know what you guys are thinking a ballpark figure for the SS/RS is. I have heard anywhere from 29k-40k+. I just don’t want to get my hopes up just to find out that the price is going to be at the high end of the spectrum. I’m thinking, and so are many other people, that the SS/RS will be about 33K. I hope this price is about right. I’m looking to hear what people close to the Camaro think the price is going to be not just someone’s uneducated guess.

i think after taxes and such and RS addons.. roofs and all that $36-37k if not slightly a little more. I think there will probablly be a transmission price differential as well between the Auto/Manual and the LS3/L99

Well I think Fbodfather said the Mustang was their goal as far as price goes, so hopefully they hit it and we get a great deal.

Everybody has their assumptions but I would have to say that yours is among the most reasonable. From the little tid bits we've heard, we kinda expect the SS to start out at about $29,995. R/S package wont be as expensive for the SS because the SS already has some of the features the R/S gives so you could be looking at $900-1000 for the R/S on an SS. Fully loaded which is the sunroof and R/S and all that stuff will wont even come close to touching $40,000 from what Fbotfather said (look at my signature). So I agree with your $33,000 ballpark. I still wouldnt mind $35,000-$36,000 though.

You aren't going to get that information here. Everyone associated with the project has been very tight lipped about the final pricing. It will be released when they are ready and anything else you read on this forum or others is pure speculation until then.

We all want to know the official pricing but it's just not available yet.

So, in the meantime, go think about color options. There is only 1 color more expensive than the rest. That's the only thing we know for sure at the moment with regards to pricing. :D

Thanks for the info guys. 35-36K is just outside my price range but if I’m that close I'll have to look under the cousins of the couch to find the rest lol

Awesome. I'm looking forward to trading in my Stang and becoming a part of the Camaro family!:headbang:

My guess on a fully loaded SS w/ the RS package will be around 35k - 37k before taxes ..

I hope they hit that mark too. I was a little upset when GM said they put the Camaro on Jenny Craig and then the Camaro came out weighing in at a hefty, what, 3860lbs? Anyway, I trust that our Camaro will be priced right for the market.

headpunter 10-03-2008 02:25 PM

no new car is going to be lighter. between all the safety regulations added to cars and cost of materials there is little room to lighten cars without massive increases in price
