TVS2300 & 1900 Pulley Info & Size ...

Not sure if this info is already here, If not hope some of you find it helpful!

The stock boost for any Magnacharger TVS 2300 Supercharger Kit installed upon any 2010 / 2011 Camaro 6.2L V8 with a 3.80" Magnacharger Pulley installed on it is only 6 psi at wide open throttle.

- 3.60" pulley: expect 2.0 psi. more boost over stock pulley -Total boost 8.0 psi
- 3.40" pulley: expect 4.0 psi. more boost over stock pulley -Total boost 10.0 psi
- 3.20" pulley: expect 6.0 psi. more boost over stock pulley -Total boost 12.0 psi
- 3.10" pulley: expect 7.0 psi. more boost over stock pulley -Total boost 13.0 psi
- 3.00" pulley: expect 8.0 psi. more boost over stock pulley -Total boost 14.0 psi
- 2.90" pulley: expect 9.0 psi. more boost over stock pulley -Total boost 15.0 psi
- 2.80" pulley: expect 10.0 psi. more boost over stock pulley -Total boost 16.0 psi
- 2.70" pulley: expect 11.0 psi. more boost over stock pulley -Total boost 17.0 psi

NOTE: If running Long-Tube Headers, you will lose around 2 PSI of Boost and to gain that back, choose a pulley 2 sizes smaller!

The stock boost for any Magnacharger TVS 1900 Supercharger Kit installed upon any 2010 / 2011 Camaro 6.2L V8 with a 3.30" Magnacharger Pulley installed on it is only 6 psi at wide open throttle.

- 2.80" pulley: expect 5.0 psi. more boost over stock pulley -Total boost 11.0 psi

FYI: The only way to install the 2.70" Pulley is to have the Jackshaft Housing machined down for it to fit properly. Some Jackshaft Housing Castings are made differently in sizes and do vary, as to what the smallest pulley you can use without maching. The smallest size recommended is 2.80", without any machining performed on the jackshaft housing casting area

*** Remember - Above Boost Increases are Fully Dependant Upon proper Tuning and Modifications, to prevent any and all Knock Retard associated with using Smaller Supercharger Pulleys or Pulley Units!

Excellent info!

Actually that's not exactly accurate information...,
At lower boost levels the gain is 1lb of boost per .2 of an inch dropped off the pulley size. At higher levels it does get closer to 1lb gained per .1....

Correct.
I assume not one customer is going to order a pulley, going off of the 1lb per 0.2 of an inch calculations at low boost though. When ordering pulleys we usually use the WOT boost & The 1lb per 0.1 rule as it is pretty much a standard... The information is based upon WOT... Hence the info and the pulley sizes that someone would want to use when ordering.

So what would be a guesstimate?

Long tubes, mild cam, TVS 2300, 3.6", and 5,280' in altitude.

No boost gauge as of yet. 60 lb/hr injectors were at 40% duty cycle.

Might be able to pulley down safely? Stock fuel pump, 91 octane.

great info... thanks for sharing...

CAN WE MAKE THIS A STICKY?

Generally, there is 1 lb loss for every 3k feet of altitude. Really, you need a boost gauge... :)

So i am thinking 4 1/2 to 5 lbs. Gauges are my next step ( boost - WB
- fuel pres. ) Then suspension, stall, gears, smaller pullies, more fuel, better cooling. etc, etc. DOES IT EVER STOP!!!

I think you meant to say choose a pulley .2 (two-tenths) diameter smaller, not two sizes smaller.

Generally pulley sizes are referred to as .1 being each size...except in the case of the 3.5 since we don't make that one. I know I have read this exact information somewhere else... either pulleyboys or ebay. But I don't recall where

But I also don't think anyone actually sees a 2lb boost drop with headers...MAYBE a cam & headers.

I can't answer that first hand as I don't run a guage as I didn't see it necessary for 4 to 5 PSI of boost. I wouldn't be suprized to see guys like myself running 1 7/8" long tubes into 3 inchers loosing up to two pounds though as WOT.

On the TVS 1900 you have the .1 size pulley size changes but on the more popular TVS 2300's the pulley sizes are .2 changes until you get below a 3.2 whereas I don't think 99% of the magie owners ever use a pulley smaller than 3.2.
